New Light is a group for spirited discussion and comparative study of the one light from the great Teachers as transmitted via the inspirations of Alice Bailey (Djwhal Khul), Helena Roerich (Agni Yoga), H.P. Blavatsky (Theosophy), and related writings.

We encourage independent thought and intuition rather than acceptance of everything because it is from an inspired agent. We wish to seek the underlying truth behind words of wisdom, and for this we focus more on what is said rather than the authority of who gave it. While affirming deep respect for the listed teachers, we recognize that truth is not the province of any one school or teacher. This means that the group is open to consideration of all teachings (known or unknown to us) that are compatible with the fundamental principles of the listed teachers.

We value appeals to both heart and head. We support benevolent criticism offered in a spirit of friendliness and mutual truth seeking. We support the spirit of reverence for the truth illuminating the words of great writings. We respect scientific inquiry, scholarship, philosophical reflection, literary art from spiritual intuition, and the original spirit behind great religions of the world. While eclectic and stressing synthesis, we seek to emphasize love, and the common fundamentals uniting great teachings, rather than the details about which we may justly differ.
