Antonio "Junior" Cervila is a highly respected,  internationally known performer, choreographer, producer and instructor. He is recognized for his creative tango stylings, his intricate footwork, as well as his dance versatility, earning a well-deserved reputation as the ‘Gene Kelly of Latin Dance’.

Junior’s performances have been seen worldwide; most recently he produced and directed  Latin Dance Carnival, a musical extravaganza using music and dance to dramatically depict the evolution of Latin culture. His most recent show is Celos, a dance adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello.  Junior's company of dancers regularly performs to standing ovations in Japan, China and South America.

Junior was featured in the iconic Carlos Saura film Tango, which won an Oscar nomination for Best Foreign Film in 1998. In addition to having a starring role in the film, he was principal choreographic assistant to tango legend Juan Carlos Copes. He is also well-known for starring in the famous Broadway production of Tango Argentino, as part of Julio Iglesias’s World Tour, and for starring in many outstanding productions including Tanguera and  Tango Emocion; he was featured in the BBC documentary as partner to the London Royal Ballet's prima ballerina Deborah Bull, and has danced for the Rolling Stones!  Junior is also the partner of choice for the great tanguera Maria Nieves, Juan Carlos Copes' long time collaborator. He regularly performs throughout Europe, Asia, Latin America and the United States, and lucky for us, loves Woodstock!!

Although he is one of the most exquisite stage dancers in the world - Junior’s classes in Woodstock primarily focus on proper technique for social dancing;
His workshops are excellent preparation for those interested to learn how to navigate smoothly on a crowded dance floor as well as for those who wish to be challenged by demanding figures. Embrace, connection and musicality are key.

TANGO WORKSHOP AT VILLA LA ROGAIA
in Umbria, Italy
Masterclass with Carolina del Rivero and Donato Juarez
April 18 to 25 , 2009

Only few availabilities left !

  About the teachers:

Dance like a feather ... Tango Nuevo Elegante

Carolina started dancing at the age of 6, and throughout her career she has
practiced different dancing techniques. She studied ballet at the
world-famous Teatro Colon (the most renowned opera house in Latin America)
and later modern dance at the famous “Taller de Danza Contemporanea del
Teatro San Martin”. She discovered tango in 1995, and since the year 2000
Carolina travels around the world giving workshops and exhibitions. She took
part as a master teacher and dancer in the “Congreso Internacional de Tango
Argentino” (C.I.T.A) -the world largest annual tango event that takes place
in Buenos Aires every March-, from 2001 until 2008.
Applying all her artistic knowledge from other dances, she brings to tango,
style and elegance, as well as a profound understanding of the technique and
dynamic of the dance, and also of the woman’s role in it. She is one of the
most renowned master teachers and performers in the world of Argentine
Tango.
Donato Juárez is one of the most talented of the new generation of tango
dancers in Argentina. Musical, elegant, precise, driven, Donato teaches
tango as he dances it: with energy, passion and sensitivity. From his
hometown of Mar del Plata in Argentina, he has been part of a group of
enthusiastic young dancers that has continued to tirelessly explore the
intricacies of this dance. He has studied with many renowned teachers who
were quick to notice his impressive technical skills. Donato works with many
distinguished partners all over the globe, including Cecilia Gonzalez,
Carolina del Rivero and Lucia Mazer.
Donato has been invited to international tango festivals in the United
States, Iceland, Australia, New Zealand, Europe (Italy, Spain, Holland,
Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, Finland), and Mexico and has performed in many
theaters in Argentina. He has been invited to perform with Cecilia Gonzalez
in the 2006, 2007 and 2008 International Argentine Tango Congresses (CITA)
in Buenos Aires.

MIAMI BEACH, MAR. 2, 2009 – Dubbed "the largest tango event outside Argentina", the 13th annual Tango Fantasy Festival, also known as the US Tango Congress, will take place in Miami Beach, Florida, between May 21 and May 26, 2009, with the participation of world-renowned  stars of the genre, organizers announced Monday.

The festival, which gathers hundreds of tango dancers from around the world and a host of guest teachers from Argentina, will take place at the historic "art déco" Deauville hotel  (6701 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach) and will include a spectacular show-with-dinner, on Sunday, May 24th, performed by the masters of the dance.

This year's roster includes some of the leades of the so-called "Nuevo Tango" trend, like the Argentine couples Gustavo Naveira-Giselle Anne, two former members of the Broadway hit "Forever Tango," Carolina Zokalski and Diego di Falco, and longtime tango couples like Guillermo Salvat-Silvia Grynt, Pablo Repun-Alicia Masforrol, and Silvina Valz-Oliver Kolker, among others.

Teachers are scheduled to offer special classes that total of about 16 hours a day during the  Tango Fantasy festival.

Special registration packages (they do not include travel and hotel accommodations) will offer attendees admission to classes for the 5-day event, which in the US coincides with the Memorial Day weekend, traditionally marking the start of the summer vacation season.

The landmark Deauville, which is located in the historic "art déco" area, offers a wide variety of double occupancy rooms, most of them with a sea view, as well as other facilities such as a swimming pool, bar and other accommodations.

For further information, see www.tangofantasy.com  or call organizer Lydia Henson in the USA at (305) 275-2802.

ABOUT ADAM & CIKO

Adam and Ciko are unique to the North American and especially New York tango
scene.
They have had the opportunity to study with teachers from all over the world,
who come from very different ideologies, which has allowed and fostered their
own unique approach and character of dance. Their style is a blend of things
they have learned and observed both from outside influences as well as their own
personal growth as a couple.
Adam and Ciko have been working together since 2006 and have taught and
performed at festivals across the US and Canada. Their dance has evolved by
blending these influences with their own personal growth as
a couple. Their style is defined by its sensuality, musicality, & creative
playfulness."

I will be traveling this March and I am excited to let you know that Carolina
Zokalski and Diego Di Falco are replacing me while I am away. Carolina and Diego
have reached a prominent place in the world of Tango. They are absolutely
amazing dancers and great teachers. Please make them feel welcome and I promise
you will work hard!

Here's some background information about Carolina and Diego:

At the age of 20, they joined the original cast of the show Forever Tango,
becoming the youngest tango dancers in the history of American musical theater
on Broadway. The show was a triumphant success, beginning in June 1997 and
maintained a competitive position for fourteen months. They also toured with the
show throughout the United States, Europe and Canada for over four years.

Carolina and Diego also performed in the first version of the Forever Tango home
video. They were nominated for a Tony award for "Best Choreography" and the
artistic image of Diego was used in all of the show's promotional materials,
including the major billboards in Times Square. Since the show, they have
performed in more than thirty cities in the United States, Canada, Europe,
Israel, and Japan.
