Dear Tangueros,

Otra Milonga, our 4th Sat milonga at the Manhattan Ballroom, will be closed on
Saturday December 26th. Both Yesim "la Turca" and I will be out of town spending
Christmas with our families. Otra will be back in January, 2010.

The All Night Milonga at Stepping Out will be open on New Year's DAY, Friday
January 1st. We open at 3pm and go until....not sure.....Come early for bagels
and mimosas. More details to come soon.

We wish everyone a very happy and healthy holiday season and best wishes for the

     Brigitta Winkler lives in New York and Berlin where she trained in ballet
and modern dance. She discovered Argentine tango in 1980. Brigitta's teachers in
Buenos Aires have included Juan Carlos Copes, Antonio Todaro, Pepito, Gustavo
Naveira, and Eduardo Arquimbau.
     In 1987 she opened Tanzart, a tango school in Berlin, with her partner,
Angelika Fischer. Together they performed with companies in Berlin and other
European cities.

     Brigitta's recent tango activities have included Tango Mujer in New York, at
Town Hall and Symphony Space, Berlin Podewil (1998) and Colorado Dance Festival
(1999) Tango Marathon in the Theaterhaus Stuttgart, 1994 Tango Vision in Berlin
and Tango Mundo in Berlin.

     She has been a favorite guest teacher at Dance Manhattan every year since
1995, and incorporates into her interpretation of tango her knowledge of
Body-Mind Centering, which she studied in a four-year program with Bonnie
Bainbridge-Cohen."Brigitta is an incredibly gifted teacher of Argentine Tango.

     With a degree in Body-Mind Centering and over twenty years of experience
teaching and performing tango around the globe, she is one of the most inspiring
and innovative artists in the tango world today. In class, she has the knack of
unlocking her students' creativity and making tango fun and exciting at any

DIRECTIONS TO THE CENTER FOR CREATIVE EDUCATION & PARKING:
 (it's about than 7 minutes from Thruway entrance...)

FROM  NYS THRUWAY EXIT 19, KINGTON NY ( 1 hr 45 min from Geo. Washington Bridge)
From  Thruway exit 19 ramp, drive around the traffic circle to the 3rd Right- Colonel Chandler Drive (I-587).
Drive to the stoplight at the end of Chandler Drive. Stay in the center lane.
Continue through light straight to BROADWAY (RT.32 SOUTH). Drive down Broadway a few tenths of a mile.
You will pass UPAC ( Ulster Performing Arts Center on your right)... and a second stoplight.

Make the second LEFT turn after UPAC onto Thomas St.
(you'll see the sign for Frank Guido's Little Italy Restaurant & Ulster Lighting is on the corner). 
On Thomas St., you will pass the back entrance to the CCE (directly next to Frank Guido's ), but please continue to the end of the block, make a RIGHT turn onto Fashion Lane,  go one short block and pull into parking lot at the end of the street (Railroad Ave).
This will put you across the street from the back entrance to CCE.
Look for the TANGO signs and a walkway to CCE on the side of the building.
Take the elevator to the second floor.
You're there!  It's easy!

Greg and Lera are teaching the ever expanding vocabulary of Nuevo Tango from the basics to the advanced creative process in Seattle.

Greg's early performance career in dance extends from ballet in San Francisco to modern dance performances throughout the US and Europe. Since 1997 he has studied Tango and danced extensively throughout the US, Buenos Aires and parts of Europe.

Lera has been dancing Tango since 2002. Among her first teachers are Fabian Salas, Mario Consiglieri, Cecilia Gonzalez and Luciana Valle. From early on, she was assisting local tango teachers in all levels of classes both in Seattle and in Vancouver, BC. She has taken ballet and modern dance classes at University of Washington to improve her understanding of movement.

Greg and Lera became partners in 2004. They have taught in California, New York, Hawaii, Canada and Mexico. Together, they strive to improve their dancing and teaching skills by attending seminars in Europe, throughout the U.S.and in Buenos Aires every year. Among their most influential teachers are Sebastian Arce and Mariana Montes, Chicho Frumboli, Eugenia Parrilla, Pable Inza, Damian Rosenthal, Celine Ruiz, and Mario Consiglieri and Anabella Diaz-Hojman. Their ongoing personal training in Gyrotonic Expansion System has been very helpful to promote relaxed, centered, clear and technically correct movement.
