Yes, we are completely off of low band. All the equipment is long disposed of;
to where I don't know. The plug was pulled on it right around June 2000 when we
moved into our new place. I haven't heard of anyone in our system that still
uses any of it, although we may still have a mobile or two in a box somewhere!

FYI - As you can imagine, the airport operations channels are very active today
given the weather situation. Quite interesting.

I have had no luck with those tones on my GRE 600 and typically run in SEARCH
tone anyway due to (what I monitor aka FEDS) seem to share channels and this
results in multiple tones depending how who the agency is

I'm wondering if the PSR-600 and BC996XT react a different way if you were to
put those NACs in when programming a channel in the scanner.

I should clarify my earlier post. Troop F Cannon Mt transmitter was
using Nac 826 on 152.63 this fall. Mt Washington, Cannon, Tenney and
Hanover sites all come in quite well in Lincoln/North Woodstock area.

For all practical purposes yes. They switched over a few years ago (around 2000
maybe?).

I'm told some communities kept their low-band radios to use for unit-to-unit
chit chat. But I haven't heard any use. Of course the modern scanners are
exactly Low-Band fireballs of reception. I guess if you see any communities
relicense their low-band, they might be the suspects.

I believe the communities on Low-Band were able to obtain some VHF High-Band
radios through the grant. Whether they were completely outfitted, I don't
know. Mason & Greenville, as mentioned before utilize VHF links to/from
Hillsborough County Dispatch. And some area departments have put those links
in their High-Band radios to talk to them.

Bedford is the only one I know of that more/less wholesale switched to
High-Band from Low-Band through the grant. Their pagers remain on 33.78, but
everything else is high-band now (156.1800).

I increased the font size on my browser, the V and the U were looking the same.

One VHF link is 155.9325 PL 167.9  You'll hear EMS dispatch from time to time on
this.

154.3925 PL 173.8 and 155.4075 PL 107.2 links 33.740 for Souhegan Valley.

Milford FD is on 154.370, but that is no longer tied to 33.640.

There is no V HF link for 33.640 that I know of.

I've set up some searches, but while those are underway I figured I'd
ask the list in case anybody has the scoop:

Are the FDs served by MACC Base really still on low band with no links
to VHF high (150+MHz)? I know historically, ages ago, the low band
frequencies were the standard. But now the vast majority of the state
is on VHF high (for both fire and police).

If these departments ARE still on low band, does anyone know why?
Wouldn't the state grant for fire radios have enabled them to upgrade to
new equipment? Doesn't this make interoperability more difficult?

The 151.250 issue is a fairly common problem, not just for Nashua.

Check the frequency assignments for analog cable tv boxes and you find:

Cable channel 19 (or F), audio carrier 151.250 MHz.

Leaking cable in the neighborhood, or a user customer modified/split cable.

I would think you might be able to detect some distorted audio on 151.250 if
you crank the squelch open.

With digital convertor boxes the interference may be less intense, but more
across the band and not so much on a specific frequency.

If you like to listen to 155.760, such as Lunenburg Mass fire, the video
carrier for cable channel 19 is found here, and will be heard as mostly an open
carrier with somewhat of a hum or other low level slightly varying sounds.
