A small sampling of our platform on the subject of the Environment and Energy Policy includes:
* addressing the Global Warming Issue (we must address this on a Local level as much as on a National/International level)Local citizens and farmers need to know how global climate change will effect them and their way of life. Also we must begin to refer to global warming as global climate change.
* promoting & achieving energy INDEPENDENCE through RENEWABLE ENERGY sources (this will reduce our presence in the Middle East and lessen terrorist threats to America, in addition to protecting our environment and our citizens)
* wind, solar, water power
* reducing air, water, light pollution
* preserve open spaces
* ensure a safe food supply- promote organic foods
* support funding environmental education
* SUSTAINABLE U.S. & world population & consumption levels (support measures at the local, national & international level -would include stopping illegal immigration into U.S.)
* Protect threatened & endangered wildlife & ecosystems
* energy & resource conservation
