i'm disappointed that Brian Moore has that position (and it's a blot on all of us in the Socialist Party), and there are cases where race can be subsumed under class, but also cases where it can not, you would at least need something akin to a class plus race formula, in certain areas around issues of school redistricting, in some areas you could do it be a class formula and have racial diversity, in others, it would not.

That all being said, I hope we don't end up like the Sparts and RCP who in 1974 backed racists who attacked Black students who were part of a school desegration program.

Given the history of this country, and even our party (going back to 1901), we must be clear about where we stand on this.

I'm not a huge supporter our current version of affirmative action.  I
think it should be done by class, not race.  Most minorities who
currently benefit under affirmative action would still benefit from
it.  While poor whites could get the help they need to push themselves
out of poverty within a capitalist country.
