Farmers Insurance Rose Bowl Float Features Towering Native-American Chief
Friday December 21, 3:54 pm ET

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--He stands 60 feet tall, holds a peace pipe
under his right arm, and wooden feathered cane in his left and is crafted
entirely from flowers, vegetables and other natural material. He is a
Native American Chief standing proudly in full regalia on the Rose Parade
float presented by Farmers Group, Inc.

This year’s Rose Parade theme is Passport to the World’s Celebrations.
“Farmers entry, “Celebrating Our Rich Heritage” honors Native Americans and
the contributions they have made to our country,” noted Farmers Insurance
CEO Paul Hopkins. “Farmers will be observing its 80th anniversary in 2008
and we recognize the success we have achieved is due to the rich tapestry
of cultures America embraces. This is the 49th consecutive year Farmers
will be part of this great American tradition.”

Joining the Chief on his journey down Pasadena’s Colorado Boulevard will be
six members of the Farmers Insurance family: Al Candos, from Orland Park,
Illinois, is the 2007 Farmers Insurance agent of the year; Marte Formico,
from San Jose, California, is the Farmers 2007 District Manager of the
Year.

The remaining four float riders were selected for the role they played in
the 2007 Farmers Insurance nationwide March of Dimes fundraising drive.
“Their tremendous effort, along with the Farmers family, helped raise a
record $4.5 million this year. As a result, Farmers was named the number
one insurance company fundraiser in the country for the March of Dimes,”
Mr. Hopkins said.

Farmers is proud to introduce Cathy Guevara, Oklahoma City Claims
Department; Tennessee State Executive Director Betsy Nealon; James Lizzio,
Farmers’ agent from Chicago; and Doug DiBartelo, Farmers District Manager
from Westmont, Illinois.
