Mohegan Sun renews major sponsorship deal with Guidera
11/1/2007
Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Matt Guidera, who won his first NHRA national
event earlier this year in Reading, Pa., has inked sponsor Mohegan Sun as a
major sponsor for the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series. Tribal member
Brian Bozsum made the announcement prior to the start of the Auto Club of
Southern California NHRA Finals.
"We joined up with Mohegan Sun at the fifth race this season, and it's just
blossomed into a great relationship for all of us," Guidera said. "We've
continued to make huge strides in our program at each event during the time
we've spent together at the track, as evidenced by our win in Reading. It
only took seven races for my crew chief, Rick Maney, Brian Bozsum, and me
to get it together and win a race. I think that says a lot about this
group.
"I share Matt's enthusiasm for our new relationship between Mohegan Sun and
Rocklin Motorsports," Bozsum said. "Not only is Matt a great rider and one
of the best racers on the NHRA circuit, he also brings with him his dad,
Vic Guidera, and brother, Len Guidera, to the equation. They are a very
intense and close racing family that I'm very proud to be associated with.
Like they say in the NHRA, the first Wally [trophy] is the hardest one to
get. Now we have that out of the way, I'm really looking forward to picking
up a few more next year."
Fielding an S&S Cycle Buell V-Twin, Mohegan Sun Racing enjoys associate
sponsorship from Mac Tools, Royal Purple Motor Oil, and NGK Spark Plugs.
"We're looking forward to a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship
that will not only pay significant dividends on the racetrack but also make
Mohegan Sun Racing/Rocklin Motorsports one of the top teams in 2008," Vic
Guidera said. "Our co-crew chiefs, Rick Maney and my other son, Len
Guidera, have made a great combination that will definitely pay us huge
dividends in 2008."
