All about letterboxing in New Zealand: clues, news, and views. Letterboxing is a fascinating activity the combines the best of hiking, treasure-hunting, and orienteering.

Using a set of clues, letterboxers seek out a hidden box. Inside the box is a log book to record your visit and a rubber stamp (often hand-carved) to stamp in your log book. Letterboxers usually carry their own rubber "signature" stamp to stamp in the box's log book.
