Alternatives to tests and assessment driving New York State curricula must be recognized. Regents and other test requirements are leading less toward "high standards" and more toward "standardization of children." Public and alternative school administrators, teachers, home educators, parents, physicians, students, and others are joining together to reclaim freedom from standardization. This list serves as a meeting place for discussion among those united in their belief that true education is more important than high test scores for children, families and, ultimately, society. It is our intent that discussion leads to action to reclaim educational freedom for our state’s children.
