BIO
Dr. Heinz Lycklama earned a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Physics and a
Ph.D. degree in experimental Nuclear Physics from McMaster University in Canada
in 1965 and 1969 respectively. Since then he has worked in the
telecommunications and computer software industries at Bell Telephone
Laboratories in NJ and at Interactive Systems Corporation in CA. In 1992 Dr.
Lycklama formed Open Systems Technology Associates (OSTA) and now offers his
technology management services to various start ups in the high technology
industry.

Being challenged in his Christian faith by what he was taught in university, Dr.
Lycklama has always maintained an active interest in the Creation vs. Evolution
controversy. As his children reached school age and began to ask questions about
what they were taught in school, he became more involved in researching the
topic of Creation vs. Evolution. He has developed a series of lectures on this
topic over the years and presented the material in Sunday school classes,
churches, colleges and Bible Schools, and other venues in Greece, Croatia,
Bulgaria and Thailand, Canada and the USA.
Dr. Lycklama has taught through a number of the books of the Bible over the
years, including Proverbs, Esther, Job, Jeremiah, Daniel, Romans, Philemon,
Hebrews, Revelation, and various Psalms and some of the Minor Prophets. His
teaching also includes topics such as prophecy, angels, heaven, Christian
worldview, cults, culture, Y2K, and various Old Testament prophets. With his
knowledge of the Bible, and of science and engineering, Dr. Lycklama has
continued to develop and present new material regarding the Creation vs.
Evolution controversy.

He lectures often, using Powerpoint Presentations to help the believer defend
the Bible’s teaching on Creation and challenge the skeptic to take an honest
look at what the Bible AND science have to say about Creation.

ABSTRACT: Currently, students in public schools are taught that Evolution is a
fact, i.e. the theory of Evolution has been proven to be a true scientific fact.
If we look into this claim more closely, we discover that Evolution is not a
proven fact and that the "theory of Evolution" is not even a provable theory.
In this talk we distinguish between operational science and origins science. We
also show that getting to macro-evolution from micro-evolution requires an
insurmountable leap of faith. Macro-evolution has in fact never been observed.
There are no credible transitional fossils that support the theory of evolution.
All alleged transitional fossils that might have proven the evolution of man
from an apelike creature have had to be discarded over time after further
analysis. Science shows that life did not and in fact cannot originate from
non-life by chance. These, as well as other scientific arguments against the
theory, will be discussed.
Evolutionists themselves support many of these arguments.

Does Challenging Darwin Create Constitutional Jeopardy? A Comprehensive Survey

ABSTRACT (Excerpt) This article attempts to exhaustively survey the case law
relevant to the teaching of biological origins, dividing the cases into three
major categories: (1) Cases upholding the right to teach about evolution; (2)
Cases rejecting the teaching of alternatives to evolution; and (3) Cases
rejecting disclaimers regarding the teaching of evolution. Twenty-one cases will
be reviewed, as well as various policies that have not faced legal challenges,
revealing that while courts have firmly upheld the rights of educators to teach
evolution and have rejected attempts to teach creationism, none of these cases
stands for the proposition that a curriculum that teaches scientific critiques
of evolution would necessarily place a school board in constitutional jeopardy.
Indeed, case law and the public policy history of this issue suggest precisely
the opposite: curricular policies in public schools need not unilaterally
support evolution. Rather, as
the U.S. Supreme Court has stated, “scientific critiques of prevailing
scientific theories [may] be taught” provided that such curricula are enacted
with the “clear secular intent of enhancing the effectiveness of science
instruction.”


The Evidence Against Evolution

The Theory of Evolution is widely regarded as a “fact” in the secular
scientific community. However, it can be shown that Evolution cannot even be
regarded as a theory because it is not testable or falsifiable. Darwin proposed
his theory of evolution based on his observations and analysis at a time when he
did not have the powerful scientific instruments that we have today. For
example biologists can use the electronic microscope to examine the structure of
a living cell today. In the 150 years since the publication of Darwin’s book
on The Origin of Species, scientists have been able to use modern scientific
instruments to learn about how living organisms function.
With a deeper understanding of how living organisms function the theory of
evolution has come under critical scrutiny. As a result the theory of evolution
is in crisis and has all but been shown to be inadequate as an explanation for
what we observe today. Scientists now agree that many of the so-called proofs
for the theory of evolution that were used over the last hundred years have now
been debunked. Many books have been written over the last 25 years by
creationists and even agnostic scientists debunking the theory of evolution.
The book Icons of Evolution written by Jonathan Wells of the Discovery Institute
does a good job of refuting the arguments and the interpretation of the evidence
presented by evolutionists. The Miller-Urey experiment has been thoroughly
debunked as an explanation of the origin of life and Darwin’s tree of life has
been totally uprooted. Homology and Haeckel’s faked embryos have been
discarded as evidence of evolution. Peppered moths and Darwin’s Finches have
been shown to be examples of microevolution, but not of macroevolution.
Lee Spetner, an Israeli biophysicist, in his book Not By Chance! deals a death
blow to the Neo-Darwinian theory which explains that as the information that
codes for living things (on the DNA molecule) is copied during reproduction,
that mutations occur and are inherited. Natural selection has been observed but
it cannot in and of itself create information. Mutations are the alleged source
of all the new information needed for evolution. Spetner shows that the chance
of getting the required mutations for cumulative selection is far too small.
Since changes are by point mutations and are all, without exception, losses of
information, this cannot lead to macro-evolution which requires a net gain of
information.
Biological systems function because information is present. Where does this
information come from? Evolutionists cannot answer this question or the related
question of how is information added in the process of natural selection. When
Dawkins was asked to give one example of a mutation or evolutionary process that
led to an increase in information, he was unable to provide any such example of
a documented increase in information resulting from a mutation.
John Sanford in his book Genetic Entropy & The Mystery of the Genome drives
another nail in the Neo-Darwinian theory. As Michael Behe says “not only does
Darwinism not have answers for how information got into the genome, it doesn’t
even have answers for how it could remain there.” Sanford shows that the
human genome is deteriorating due to the accumulation of mutations, i.e. living
organisms are devolving, not evolving over time.
Over the years many different writers have addressed the common arguments for
Evolution used by evolutionists - homology, Haeckel’s embryos, Darwin’s
Finches, Peppered Moths, vestigial organs, etc. The presentation on June 28th
will show that Evolution is not true for the following scientific reasons:
Evolution has never been observed
Evolution violates the Second Law of Thermodynamics
There are no credible transitional fossils
Life can/did not originate from non-life by chance
Evolution is only a speculative theory.
Of the three areas of Evolution – biochemical, biological, cosmic – this
presentation will focus on the first two. The claims made by biological
Evolution include the following:
All organisms are related through “common ancestry.”
All organisms arose through the process of mutation and natural selection.
All organisms arose and persist because of the random chance processes of
nature.
