Lake Nockamixon is home to the Nockamixon Sail Club (NSC). The lake is a 1,450 acre body of water located in rural Bucks County, PA., near Quakertown about 30 miles north of Philadelphia and 10 miles south of the Allentown-Bethlehem area. The lake is surrounded by the beautiful Nockamixon State Park, which includes a large marina area with wet slips and docks accommodating up to 24' boats, a dry storage area for boats on trailers, launch ramps, parking, restrooms and picnic areas. The NSC organizes activities for both racing and cruising sailors.
The NSC sailboat racing program includes about 30 weekend race days during the sailing season. We host open Invitational Regattas and active one-design fleet racing for Flying Scots, Thistles & Impulse 21's. Our Portsmouth Fleet accommodates all other sailboats, racing on the Portsmouth Handicap scoring system. The NSC also organizes a relaxed Wednesday evening series. Each racing event is often followed by socializing activities.
The NSC cruising fleet seeks to create a safe, fun, social and educational environment where sailors on any skill level can meet-up with other sailors who know and help each other. Activities include free sailing and seamanship skills workshops, launch and mast raising assistance in the spring and haul-out and mast lowering assistance in the fall. Social activities include the spring mixer, fall awards banquet, raft-up picnics, cruising at night in our full moon cruises, fun low key racing in our Fun Races, on the water picture day, 4th of July and Labor Day flag parades and various other cruising activities.
