The Navy League is the foremost citizens' organization to serve, support, and stand with the U.S. sea services - the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and the U.S. flag Merchant Marine. The Navy League has a network of 250 councils and near 50,000 members. Over seventy-five Navy Leaguers reside in the "Gem State" Idaho.

The Blue Angels "Blue Thunder" air show drew an estimated 50,000 to the Idaho Falls Air Show July of 2010. Navy Week with multiple activities in Boise drew large crowds as well. It was ten days of activities and events in conjunction with the Western Idaho Fair; Navy Day kicked off festivities on the 20th. It's the first time the Navy has come to the capital city, which has the fast-attack submarine USS BOISE (SSN-764) named for it.

For Idaho state sea service units there is the BOISE, the Navy Operational Support Center Boise (NOSC), the reserve units there, the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard recruiters, the Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) at the University of Idaho and at Lewis-Clark State College, the US Navy Acoustic Research Detachment Bayview, and the Boise Sea Cadet Battalion.
