For more information on NJAN (The New Jersey Authors Network), including details of upcoming events, check out our website: WWW.NJAuthorsNetwork.com.
However they're published, new authors have trouble arranging book signings, but it doesn't have to be that way.
With a little planning, and enough people doing their bit, we could make multi-author events a regular feature at libraries and book stores throughout New Jersey. That's got to be good for everybody.
Check out the ' Guide for Participants' page on the website. We organize all our events through this Yahoo group. If you'd like to join us, add your info to the Pics and 100-word bios for NJAN events folder within the 'Files' section here (NB: please follow the instructions carefully).
Add links to your online webpages and to the group Database.
When someone wants to organize an event, they'll post a group message with the relevant details. If you want to take part, it's up to you to let them know, but there are no guarantees. Whoever sets up the signing gets to decide who they include.
You don't have to wait for someone else to arrange things. On the main website, WWW.NJAuthorsNetwork.com, you'll find tips on how to set up an event.
Like any other good idea, this will only work if you do. Promote this group on your blog. Invite other NJ authors to join. If you have an agent, ask them to promote it too. If you want to sell your book, you have to put yourself out there. Hopefully this can help.
Good luck,
Jon Gibbs
