Welcome Unschoolers of New Jersey!

A little about this list. We are all believers in gentle and respectful parenting and attempt to live by those ideals even if we sometimes fall short (we’ve all had one of those days!). Other than that we're all pretty different.

Please don’t assume we’re all on the same page regarding religion, politics, vaccination, breastfeeding, diet or anything else. If you are someone for whom veganism/the NT diet/Christianity/atheism/TCM/LOA or heck – ANYTHING – is so important that you have trouble getting through a single post without bringing it up, then you probably won’t fit in here. It's not that we can't discuss these things, or mention them, but sometimes people who are really passionate about something don't realize when they have crossed the line into eye rollingly annoying. Please, just try and not go there, k?

All new members are moderated. Once you’ve posted a few time and we know you’re not a spambot, you’ll be taken off moderated status. Until then, your posts will take a few hours to go through but (unless I’m on vacation) it should never be more than a day. Just be patient!

And one more important point. This list is a chat list, not an announcement list. If you have an event to announce, please do so on your local list instead of on this one (check out our Database if you need to find a local list).

That’s about it. Be nice. Be kind to others. Have an opinion and share it (doormats are only good for shoes!) but please be aware of the difference between sharing your view vs bonking someone over the head with it.
