The AMC Family Group strives to create opportunities for families with children of all ages and abilities to enjoy the outdoors. Most trips are rated easy to moderate difficulty and include hiking, backpacking, hut trips, biking, cross country skiing, and snow shoeing, as well as cultural outings to places such as Tanglewood in Western Mass. Trips are also available for families with more experienced teens and adults who enjoy a relaxed pace. The history of this group, (spanning more than twenty years) has shown that hiking year after year with the same group is very appealing to children. This will be a great place to meet, and discuss hikes and find outdoor events geared toward families.
