WELCOME!
This Group is for modellers of narrow gauge railways in the great outdoors whatever the scale or gauge. If you're seeking ideas and tips on gaining that element of realism from your railway, this is the place for you. Lots of friendly advice given, inspirational discussions and good ideas with some superb photo's of the finished results. We welcome modellers of all abilities from age 8 to 88.
WHAT WE’RE ABOUT
We want to explore the scope for greater realism in our modelling. We believe that there is lots of potential for reflecting real railway practice in the larger outdoor scales. This group is dedicated to experimentation and new thinking, whether concerning the trains themselves, structures and landscape, operation, or photography. We hope that discussions will be about developing new techniques, sharing best practice and furthering realistic modelling outdoors. We welcome speculative contributions as well as factual ones. Please have a look at the 'mission' article in the Files section for more.
FILES AND PHOTO'S
We have created shared folders for rolling stock, structures etc, to try to keep things tidy. Please add to those as appropriate; save new files for new topics! Thanks.
GROUP RULES.
If attaching photo's to your message, please try to keep the file below 100kB if possible, and ensure that you have the copyright holder's permission where applicable.
All messages should be in PLAIN TEXT please, NO HTML.
Please refrain from using offensive language, political, religious beliefs or personal remarks.
Spammers and traders advertising on group will not be tolerated, member to member offers require moderators' approval first.
Lengthy off-topic discussions should be avoided, as these clog up the message board and cause annoyance to others.
For a more general discussion of garden railway-related matters, we recommend you visit the 16mm modellers’ group.
