The Army and Marines require responsive, all-weather fire support in quantity and qualitative accuracy to enable decisive ground maneuver. Aircraft-delivered fires (Close Air Support) are important but are not all-weather and reliable enough in affordable quantity to kill, suppress and screen U.S. ground maneuver forces. This study group of the 1st TSG (A) will explore options towards solving these requirements and further them within DoD.
