NEW Leadership History:

National Education for Women's Leadership (NEW Leadership) is the centerpiece of CAWP's initiative to educate and empower the next generation of women leaders.

The NEW Leadership summer institute began in 1991 as national program. The institute consists of a week long residential program during which college students learn about women's leadership and women's political participation from scholars and practitioners. Since 1995 the annual summer institute at CAWP has focused on New Jersey, bringing students and practitioners from across the state to discuss national and local policy issues.
