NESHE is a PARENT-RUN homeschool cooperative in the Omaha/Council Bluffs Metro and Surrounding Areas. The idea behind this group is that parents can pool their resources and talents to expose their children to fun, diverse, and educational group activities and events. We are all about enjoying learning, networking with other families, and giving our children the unique experiences that a larger group affords, while encouraging and maintaining our individual homeschooling styles and paths.

We have NO specific religious or political affiliation whatsoever. We are an 'all inclusive group', meaning we welcome all homeschool families regardless of political or religious affiliation. We do require that group applicants agree to our Tolerance Statement, which is emailed to each applicant when you click the "Join" button on this site.

Because of the wonderful diversity in our group, we have many different approaches to Homeschooling. Some folks are "unschooling", while others utilize eclectic approaches. Still others prefer 'school at home' curriculum or a mixture of different styles. We just try to have fun and support each other in each of our homeschooling adventures, NESHE does not believe any one method or style is superior over another as the goal of homeschooling is to utilize the method or style that works best for each child and each family.
