The NEPA Orthodox List is for use as a resource for Orthodox Christians, or those interested in the Orthodox Christian Church, to share information on church events and happenings in and near the Pocono Mountains area of Northeastern Pennsylvania (NEPA). This includes the Bethlehem, Allentown, Easton, Wilkes-Barre, Scranton, Stroudsburg areas and beyond. Events happening within driving distance- such as in New York City, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Upstate New York, and New Jersey- are also welcome to be posted.

Priests and responsible laypeople of parishes and monasteries in the area are encouraged to post regularly their Schedule of Services, especially for Patronal Feasts, special Liturgies, Vigils, Lecture Series, etc. There is a folder in the Files section of this site that is to be used for the direct uploading of your monthly parish schedule of services. There is also a Links sections where you can post a link to your parish or insitution's website.

We are richly blessed in northeastern PA with St. Tikhon of Zadonsk Monastery and Seminary, Holy Protection Greek Orthodox Monastery for women, the relics and rich legacy of St. Alexis Toth of Wilkes-Barre whose relics are in South Canaan, PA, and have had other saints such as Patriarch St. Tikhon and St. Nikolai Velimirovich live or work here, as well as having to this day a multitude of churches of all ethnic backgrounds.

NEPA Orthodox is not a forum for dispute, disagreement, or gossip as to specific practices, personalities, or pastoral teachings of any Orthodox or non-Orthodox individuals, parishes, jurisdictions, or organizations. It is also strictly for information on news, activities, and events of direct interest to Orthodox Christians about Orthodox Chrisitianity. Disciplinary action may be taken if these guidelines are broken up to and including removal from the list.
