New College students breathe life into the school. The school also is 85-90% funded by our tuition. The power structure at New College is vertical and this has often caused serious problems in our school, including the falling apart of multiple programs. A fragmented student body has a weak voice. This email group is for students and their allies and is an attempt to harbor communication and find a space in which to foster positive change at New College.
Too many programs have been gutted and too many students and faculty have been alienated and pushed out of the school for various reasons. This is about students getting together to voice their concerns and work on creating a viable, strong and united (as we can be) school and community. this list is for students and those who want to support students.

We have several agreed upon objectives as a group. We ask that people who join are in agreement with these objectives and that everone keeps them in mind when posting.
1. Hold New College to its mission of being Just, Sacred and
Sustainable
2. Make these ideals equally accessible and enforceable to students,
staff, faculty and administration.
3. Establish formal structures (committees, unions, collectives) to
perpetuate the above stated goals.
