I posted that I have navigator working - It is worth the time to set
the unit up - I did it with the help of KB9UBZ - I am using the Icom
756 Pro 3, and a Sony Computer - I got the cable from rigexpert.com.
The setup took some time and the help of KB9UBZ who knows more about
computers then I do - I am 66, and Mike is in his 20s.

Hi Bill - there are two sources for CW. One is from the WinKey2
keyer, the other is from the Secondary PTT port. If you are using
MixW, then check the Secondary PTT port, and make DTR always off. If
you set it for CW, it should be OK, but not always on.
If you use Digipan, of course there is no CW, but if the program is
running, you should set PTT to be both RTS and DTR. If you specify
RTS only, Digipan leaves the DTR high, which would give you a constant
tone if you turned your rig to CW.
Also, your PTT light should not be on during cw ops - that will also
key the rig all the time. In MixW, in CW mode, go to Mode Settings
and check Disable PTT output.
Let me know if any of these help your issue.

I wanted to know which transceiver he was interfacing to. I have an
Orion I, which I want to connect to, and I already have the cable.
There is always a possibility that I have the incorrect cable or it's
wired incorrectly. I hope to receive my Navigator shortly.

First of all I received my NAVIGATOR today and as promised its real SLICK! It was packaged very good and well protected.
I've had it operating on PSK31 & FSK RTTY so far but I seem to have something wrong. On the front of my unit the CW LED stay illuminated all of the time. I noticed if I put my Yeasu FT-1000MP into CW mode I can hear a constant tone coming from my transceiver. Does anyone have an idea what's up with that?
Hi
Yes I guess you could be right John. It would be nice to know what
modes he is using it for, what bands he operates on, and whether we
can see his signals on air so to say :-) Course he could be an SWL.

Hi Larry
Perhaps you could give us a call sign, and a little more information
about your system there.

Today, Sunday Feb. 4th, I received a rapid-reply e-mail from Glenn.
He stated that back orders PRIOR to Jan. 19th are being shipped.
Also, today (Sunday Feb. 4th)via online I purchased a Navigator, and
some new cables; Glenn stated that my expected delivery should be by
the end of Feb.
So all you guys, myself included, I guess we should all continue being
patient until our Navigators finally arrive to us.
I know I'm going to enjoy replacing my otherwise, good running
MFJ-1275, and utilizing ONLY 1/2 the cabling.
A further reduction of that rat's nest behind the rig & other stuff!
BTW, I use MixW 2.18, 1000MP xcvr, and sometimes a Dentron 2500A amp.

I've only dabbled with Logger32. It looks to have all the facilities I want and much much more. They have their own Yahoo group, but I will be interested in the Navigator's compatibility.

Hi Steve - the physical input & output pots, and their related
attenuator options control the analog audio for one channel of audio
out, and two channels of audio in. There are no fiber
in/out links on Navigator.
A way to "shrink" the controls, is to increase the resolution of your
screen, that way mixw and others are "shrunk" proportionally. It gets
you to a point where the panels that you want to have on the screen
can all fit.
Hi guys
You are embarking upon a *NEW* concept in ham interfacing with the
Navigator, a product which is sophisticated by nature, and not
something anyone could as we say over here "knock together on a
kitchen table". It naturally takes time unless you think these guys
have more time than most of us have in any one day to complete the
neccesary building, testing, re testing before shipping, compiling of
documentation, proofing, fulfilling orders from a government which
has no concept of delays, and then keeping everyone happy all at the
same time !.
What we have is a small company guys, one dedicated to ensuring they
give "you" the best accesory product in the hobby. Please cut them
some slack, and allow them to get the units shipped. Since the last
update of a shipment starting Jan 29th there have only been 4 working
days!. Even the U.S shipping service isn't superhuman assuming some
left on that day!.
Just think, we in the rest of the world will have to wait for
overseas shipping too, and you are absolutely correct, they will go
out in batches!.
This was the last update.
It is correct that the U.S shipments will commence on the 29th
January, and the UK / European shipments around the 18th February.
The UK, and European releases being delayed due to natural shipping
from the U.S.
Naturally with any product, and most especially with sophisticated
ones, there are a number of things to be done. Great that various
U.S government sections have approved the Navigator to be used in
their departments, albeit that in itself adds to the problems of
fulfilling all orders in a short time frame.
The documentation has been finalisised regarding the Navigator
itself, and that includes FAQ sections on the various features. No
small feat in itself for Clint, and geared to providing the best
support available once things start to roll.
Everyone in the team, including myself operating remotely so to say
in the U.K have been very busy, and happy that the point of shipping
is now drawing very close.
I would just like to thank everyone for their patience, and I am
sure you will find it a worthwhile wait.
Whilst understanding your eagerness to get going, I yet again beg
your indulgence in giving them time for breath. Just think it could
be worse, you could have been waiting a year or more to get your
hands on some super new automobile :-).
Best Regards,
Dave.

Steve - the screen shot on the USInterface site that you mention above is an old screen shot from a RigExpert SD. The Navigator volume controls do not look like that. Navigator has the usual volume control for output volume, but there is no input mixer control. For the simple reason that there is only one input connected to the usb audio codec - the audio channel from the transceiver. All input level control is done with the CH1 and CH2 input gain controls on the front panel, along with an attenuator control of 15dB on each on the Navigator Option software.
Now, to answer your explicit question, if you go to configure / output volume configuration on MixW, you will get a volume control with sliders for output. You can move it anywhere on the screen and have it "integrated" into the overall screen as shown on the web site. For Navigator, both sliders (WAVE and Master Volume) should be full up.
Like the input level controls, for output use the front panel level potentiometer, along with an optional attenuator of 20 dB using the Navigator Option software.
The intent of the screen shot on the web page is to demonstrate the Align command and other macros to improve operations for MixW users.
Glenn told me that he will replace this screen shot with a current one from his Navigator next week.

All PC software, UI-View, DX Labs Suite, HamScope, Ham Radio Deluxe, MMTTY, MMSSTV, mixW, DigiPan, WriteLog, etc. will work. Just put the name of your favorite software into this blank block [ ]and it will work.. like magic, hi. We include a trial version of miXw on the CD only for one reason: If you can get miXw up and running (with the atrocious documentation they have) then you can get ANY software up and running. 73 to all, Glenn W3GWW

I see that Jack, W7LD has joined the Navigator-Interface reflector.
Jack is one of the Beta testers for Navigator, and has concentrated on
setup of Writelog and N1MM logger, using both RTTY and CW. Jack also
uses MixW for PSK.
Jack has been very helpful in reporting questions on setup, and
operating .. many of his questions ended up as FAQ in the users manual.
He also has an antenna farm that is the envy of our local club. He
has a 20M Lazy H up about 100 + feet, aimed at the heart of Europe.
He is making contacts when the rest of us can barely hear the East coast.
Welcome Jack and thanks for all your work testing this new product.

I too am waiting for my new Navigator to arrive. Originally they were supposed to have gone out on Monday - Jan 29 but that's not the case. I just got off the phone with Glenn, W3GWW, and there has been another delay. I guess a few will be mailed out on Thursday, lets hope so anyway. I'll have to look at the program you speak of UI-View 32. I'm sure it will work just fine.
I am waiting patiently for my Navigator. While I am waiting, I am
wondering if I will have any problems setting it up to work with the
Ham software I use now. I see that the Navigator comes with Mix
software but I intend to use it with the DXLabs Suite of Ham software.
I have been using that software for a while now and I am very
impressed with it. It is also free and well maintained by its Author.
Does anyone else intend to use the Navigator with DXLabs software?

Hi Bill,
I have used a number of them. I think the first was a ST-6 that I
built from a kit. I have been an RTTY operator sine the early 70s. I
have had a PK-88, PK-232, IRL-500?, Dovetron MPC-1000, RigExpert, and
the Rig Expert SD. I use MMTTY and also MixW.
We just recently moved from El Cajon, CA to just North of Worland, WY
to the family farm that my wife grew up on. We are retired and
enjoying it very much. I am in the process of getting my station
together. I have a160 meter loop at present and working on getting my
4 element SteppIR with 40/30 mod up. The weather is not much help
here. We have about 6-8 inches of snow and it is too cold most of the
time to do any tower work.
Hello fellow (and soon to be) NAVIGATOR users.
The NAVIGATOR will be shipped with a total of five (yes 5) manuals
which are included on the install CD in .pdf format. One manual, the
"NAVIGATOR Quick Start Guide' will be provided in hard copy with each
NAVIGATOR shipped. All the manuals contain a wealth of information
pertaining to an in-depth look at the NAVIGATOR as well as digital
modes in general including "old wives tales" (like where to control
your RF output) along with instructional screen shots. All of you
will be pleasantly surprised with the quality, scope of information
and instruction provided. Shortly after all pre-orders have been
shipped we will post the Quick Start Guide here in the files section.
It has been decided not to include the other manuals in the files
section. There is no need to make others privy to material we have
developed solely for our NAVIGATOR users (which is copyright protected).

Has the documents been posted to the inter net yet? Will you be posting the same documents on here along with the users manual? I'd love to start reading the manual.

Hello To All:
Glad to see the "new" news group dedicated towards the US
Interface "NAVIGATOR." I have ordered mine already and I can't wait to
receive it later this month.
One thing I would like to point out is the EXCELLENT service I've
received by Glenn, W3GWW. I know I've had a good share of questions
and he has patiently and throughly answered all of my questions. I've
appreciated his straight up front approach and his overall honesty!
I hope to hear a lot of input here on the new Navigator News Group in
the near future.

Hi guys and for newly joining members beyond this date. Please read if
you have not already done so, the description, and rules / notes
regarding the use of the group, and setting up of the software
relating to the Navigator. The statement concerning the Navigator
setup is important. It is not, nor intended to be a smart ass comment
at all, it is very important to relate it to all new users.
DO READ ALL the documentation relating to the installation, and
setting up of the Navigator within the MS Windows environment.
IRRESPECTIVE of how much knowlege you have of the Windows operating
environment. Please DO NOT jump in feet first without first reading
the installation docs it is a VERY IMPORTANT aspect of the product.
