June 8, 2007 update: This is a book discussion group that has been meeting once a month on the third Sunday of every month at 7 PM in the Seattle's Best Cafe at Borders Books & Music in Salem, Oregon. Beginning this month (June 2007) we will begin meeting the third Tuesday of every month at 7 PM at Governor's Cup coffeehouse (471 Court St. NE)in downtown Salem, Oregon.

Our first meeting at the new time and location will be on Tuesday evening June 19, 2007. We have also just put up a new website at http://www.willamettemyth.net. Please check there for up-to-date events and book announcements.

Our main discussion focuses on the writings of "The Inklings", C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, & Charles Williams, but we also discuss their influences and those they influenced. Our first official meeting was held on July 18, 1999 and we have met every month since (excluding Decembers). See database for a complete list of all of the books we have discussed/read. We are also an official chapter of the Mythopoeic Society (http://www.mythsoc.org).
