Welcome to the San Diego Multiuse Trails Coalition!
The MTC was formed in 2003 by San Diegans supporting the use of our local park and preserve trails by all non-motorized users: hikers, trail runners, cyclists and equestrians. We are coalition builders, interacting and coordinating with the San Diego Mountain Bike Association, Back Country Horsemen of California, Ramona Trails Association, San Diego Trails Council, and all those who agree: Trails Are For Everyone.
We believe our parks and preserves offer all San Diegans the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and our natural resources with our friends and families, and that all non-motorized trail users can and do co-exist comfortably and safely. We oppose exclusionary trails policies that seek to prevent lovers of the outdoors from enjoying our trails, and we've worked together to secure designation of trails in Los Penasquitos, the Del Mar Mesa and Carmel Mtn. Mesa as "multiuse". MTC members volunteer their time to work with Rangers and our elected officials to ensure smart, equitable trail access for all San Diegans, to maintain and repair trails and to defend our rights to access our Open Space. This website is essentially a mailing list and place for you to "blog" your ideas and concerns.
If you support Sharing the Trail, you're in the right place!
