It is the fourteenth pass. On the Northern Continent, and the populated areas of the South, things have become crowded. As Holds form further south, a new Weyr is needed. And so it is begun, in a basin near the top of a mountain, deep in the range on the Southern Continent. Rugged, but beautiful country, and the walls of the Weyr shimmer in the morning light, as the rock is veined in quartz. Named for the music of the wind in the rocks and the trees, it is called Mountain Song.
Founded just three turns ago, Mountain Song is in need of many things: Crafters, Riders of all colors, and Candidates! The Senior Queen and her Juniors clutch regularly, and it seems there's always 'someone' on the sands! Cot Holders are welcome to strike out on their own and try a life for themselves in the newly opened Wilderness of the mountains.
While the name may be calming and pleasant, the events that take place there in are not always so. As always on Pern, there is thread to fight, Weyrlings to train, and politically conniving Holders to be dealt with. Duels are fought, Raiders attack, Gathers are held, Holders plot and maneuver, Golds rise to mate, and life goes on. Intrigue and plot abound.
A close-to-canon Weyr, we aim for the 'feel' Pern, and keep to the usual rules, but are always open to players' ideas. Being 14th Pass, there are some small logic based extrapolations on Pern that far in the future.
