Some weeks ago I posted my concerns about the prostitution on 82nd
that was trickeling into the neighborhoods. I felt there were some
who replied to my post with a like mind of concern and fear of what
summer would bring without a well used tool, the Drug Free/
Prostitution Free zone designation that 82nd fell under. I also read
the posts of those who thought it too harsh and to exclude people was
unfair. Well folks, we now have a flood!
I am asking those of you who consider treatment to be the answer, get
on the phone or email or write your city commissioners requesting
they address this invasion now. If you think this is an
exaggeration, just go to any of the major intersections along 82nd,
any time of the day, 24/7 and see what is happening out here. Then
watch where the johns are going in their cars. These are
not "motel" customers, they are in our neighborhoods in the johns
car. Their garbage is thrown on the parkways. It is disgusting!
We need to address this as a community, now..... What do you think
this is doing to the value of your property? We need leadership,
now.... September 30, 2007 was when the ordinance was officially
withdrawn. Think of that, almost one year!
Below is a link to very well researched and written article from
December of 07'. What has happened since the lifting of the DF/PF
Zone ordinance? NOTHING!
