Molly's adventures at Modern Doll Convention   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #18 of 22 |
Molly was on a pit stop with me and was lucky enough for this to fall during the Modern Doll Convention in San Antonio.  She loved visiting the historical Alamo but even more, she enjoyed hob-nobbing and schmoozing with all the celebrities in the doll world.  She met Berdine Creedy, Kathe Kruze, Dianna Effner, the Goodreau family, Helen Kish, Claudia and Rosemarie Ionker, Jill Saunders, Robert Tonner and Ed & Glen (and Glen's doll Monty) from Happily Ever After.  Glen was so sweet and invited Molly to join him and his doll, Monty, for ice cream.  This was really the height of her day!  I think she has a little crush on Monty!

Heidi signed Molly's little tushie and later, when Molly and I went back to our room, she showed Poppy the signature.  Poor Poppy (candy) didn't get out of the hotel room at all and was a little miffed that she missed such a good time.  "I can't even get Barlee to tie my hair ribbons!" she complained.  It didn't help at all when Molly showed her the donations she received for her trunk.  Andrea Christensen from Kathe Kruze donated a pair of snazzy new rain boots.  Molly took one look at them and said "Thank you very much, Andrea.  Don't you think they're a little big on me?" and Andrea explained that she had a lot of traveling to do and these boots would take her very far, very fast!  "Well, isn't that clever!" Molly said. "I certainly have a lot of work to do!  Thank you!"   Paulette Goodreau also gave Molly a present for her trunk .. she gave her her very own Snappy doll complete with wardrobe, shoes and accessories!

Robert Tonner was so impressed with Molly's cause and the big job that this little one has.  He invited her to come for a visit at the Tonner Co. where he promised to design something just for her!  Well, you could have knocked Molly over with a feather!  She was so excited!  And, she is now on her way to the Tonner Company for some TLC and a surprise addition to her trunk!  I don't know who is more excited .. Molly, or the design team at Tonner Co.!

I'll be posting more at a later date about Molly's adventures at Fog City Designs.  She had a good time here too!
