Description
A group for Southern California model railroaders, model railroad layout owners and clubs to share their progress, experiences, tips and techniques with each other. All Southern California model railroaders, with or without layouts, are very welcome to participate.
Featured layouts can be of any railroad, time period or geographic setting, however, the physical location of the layout must be in the southern half of the state.
Members may post Southern California railroad events and railroad club may post news.
Discussions are to remain on topic and civil at all times. As this site is a resource and not a Blog or Chat Room, messages intended for one individual should not be posted for the entire group. Use of this site for commercial purposes or individual selling is not allowed. Violators of these policies will be banned from the group.
LAYOUT OF THE MONTH PHOTO: Each month an image from a local layout will be featured here. The Layout of the Month Photo for February 2012 is from Ryan Dora’s HO scale Southern Pacific in San Bernardino. See Message Post #5012 for more details about Ryan’s layout.
LAYOUT TOURS: A High Desert Tour will take place on February 25, 2012. Details are now available in the Files Section. Three Orange County tours are being planned for April 28, May 12 and May 19, 2012. Two San Diego County tours are being planned for July 14 and August 11.

Sear carries a small digital level that I use on my Garden Railroad and it has many built in tools.  It even has a thermometer in case you want to know how

I use a tapered shim attached to a piece of flat wood on which I have marked the different percent grades along the taper. The tapered piece has a maximum

There is a small "cube" digital level that will display degrees of level or grade. They are available from Micro-Mark and from Rockler Woodworkers stores
