(2) . . . Every Church a Peace Church-TC and the Outreach Board of Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis
will co-host the one-person play, “Jesus at Guantanamo” as the program for ECAPC’s bimonthly Potluck Supper meeting on
January 7. The play, written and performed by Matthew Vaky, of Minneapolis,
will be performed at the Howard Conn Theater at Plymouth, 1900 Nicollet Av., Minneapolis.
The play was performed to rave reviews last August at Augburg College as part of the Manna Fest. "Jesus is back. And of course, since he's from the Middle East, he's been picked
up and sent to Guantanamo Bay. He doesn't have a lawyer, he's been
tortured, and so now he's talking. Jesus offers surprising inghts on the
nature of morality and addresses the issues of habeas corpus and torture."
The potluck supper will be at 6:30 p.m., the performance begins at 7:30 p.m., followed by discussion. There is no charge for the performance, but a good will offering will be taken.
