All I can say is, lots of great points! Perhaps if they had a mix of live action
and CGI, like The Fairly Odd Parents Movie, that would relieve some of the
issues, but, opens up new ones. Like getting various actors, actresses,
directors and producers to match certain aspects of the cartoon.

to replace missing footage from Doctor Who archives - it's not without critics,
but it has been very successful overall.)

live-action Scooby Doo, Josie and the Pussycats and the monstrously bad Garfield
work... However, even those have their fans. No idea why, but they do and that's
respectable.
> The main thing with Kim Possible is that most of the season 1-3 stunts are
possible without CGI. Not sure you could pack enough power into a hairdryer to
launch a heavy grappling hook, but even there it's just a case of editing out
the launcher rather than adding the grappling hook in.
> So you CAN find stunt doubles who can do everything needed (or maybe very
gifted athletes who can do the lot without doubles). That immediately makes life
easier and makes the movie much more solid. CGI harms realism more often than it
fixes it.
> Ok, so the action isn't beyond reach. What about the filming? Cameras, even
good cameras, don't cost an arm and a leg these days. An arm, at worst, for the
really good ones. Video editors, sound modifiers, sound editors - you can get
all of that for free.
> Next up is scriptwriting and storyboarding. Free utilities exist for both, but
that doesn't replace actual skill. However, Deviant Art shows there's plenty of
artists who can do extremely good storyboarding. If they want to. Fan
Fiction.net doesn't offer much hope for the scriptwriting, sadly - most of the
pieces are pretty bad and even the ok ones are badly edited. However, there ARE
some truly talented writers in amongst that lot. Some of them certainly would be
able to put a script together.
> Costumes and Props? -- pffffft! You've seen the skill of CosPlayers in every
fandom you can imagine. They outclass Hollywood by a frigging lightyear. LARPers
build "full-sized" (40-60') dragons and I've seen props at the UK's SummerFest
that you would not believe - stuff ILM would be envious of. Want a time-travel
story? Living History groups can supply you with reconstructions of villages
from any era you care to name. A few can even supply ships and other goodies.
> The only things left are locations (that one really CAN be tricky) and a
director/producer who can bring the bits together. We're not short of people
with vision, although we do tend to be short on agreement as to who those people
are. If we could decide that, we're 90% there. The location issue can usually be
sorted out with diplomacy and a little bit of care.
> It's not a bad thing to start by finding a few wonderful locations, finding
which ones are doable, and then having the writer pick one that works with their
vision before writing the story to the location (and to the specific actors).

work. But to doubters, if you have ever watched The Fairly Odd Parents, I
encourage you to watch this, and then make up your mind.
