Dedicated to the worldwide hobby of monitoring Military Radio Comms, including searching for and scanning HF, VHF & UHF frequencies, as well as identifying Military aircraft, ships and vehicles by callsign, serial numbers, identification markings, transponder (SBS-1 & ADS-B) hex codes. Every day, members post information on activity at the various Military Operating Areas (MOAs) and Tactical Ranges, including freqs, ATC callsigns, and tactical callsigns, and serial numbers. We also track the activity of aircraft squadrons aboard the various aircraft carriers to post aircraft Modex numbers heard. On a typical day we track dozens of Coronet Mission tankers ferrying fighter aircraft, and USAF AMC "Reach" transport aircraft across the Atlantic.
Likewise comms of the Dept of Homeland Security (DHS) aircraft and ground units are included, including Customs & Border Patrol (CBP), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA), and the US Coast Guard (USCG), as well as and US Secret Service (USSS) and FBI.
NASA Space Shuttle launches and other rocket launch and aerospace radio comms are included, such as ISS comms and Milsatcoms, Atlas and Delta rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center, etc.
HF (shortwave) non-broadcast (utility) comms are also covered, including High Frequency-Global Communications System (HF-GCS) and Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) comms and phone patches, and transoceanic and MWARA Air Traffic Control comms.
Scanner radios, HF receivers and antennas are also discussed, including equipment reviews and suggestions for antenna/receiver combinations.
The group accommodates worldwide membership and covers the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Homeland Security, NORAD, Combat Air Patrols, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), MARS, as well as Milcoms of all other nations. Mil Satellite comms are also covered.
