Description
Living history encompasses all the times and places in history, from the stone-age to the new millennium and everything in between, with prominent stops at the Roman Empire, the Middle Ages, colonial and frontier America and such conflicts as both English and American Civil Wars, the 7-Years (French and Indian) War, the American War of Independence and World War II.
This group exists to bring together all serious living-history groups in the Midwest, for representatives of various eras to organize, to plan and to participate in timeline events where you will find period encampments, displays and other demonstrations for the education and entertainment of the public. It is open to all groups and individuals with a serious interest in living history and education, including site managers who might want to host a timeline. Since the same concerns often come up for the separate groups--such as incorporation, insurance and accuracy regs--it is also hoped that members will use the group to exchange information, ask questions and, in effect, not reinvent the wheel each time a matter comes up.
Although the group is designed to especially benefit smaller clubs and organizations, membership is not restricted to organizations of a certain size, although certain timelines might limit the number of reenactors of a single era.
