This site is especially for the Midwest Chapter of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP). Our chapter is affiliated with the national organization and promotes the cooperation and application of theories and methods of psychodrama, sociometry, group psychotherapy, sociodrama, Playback Theatre and creative arts therapies. We also encourage and promote the development of spontaneity and creativity in all areas of culture.
ASGPP is the professional organization that was founded in 1942 by Dr. J.L. Moreno, the physician who developed psychodrama and pioneered the concept of group psychotherapy. As the organization has grown, chapters and collectives have developed throughout the United States.
The Midwest chapter is comprised of 12 states, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
Membership dues are $17 per year for members of the national ASGPP; $10 for students and $20 for nonmembers who are professionals. Members who wish to have their business listings and links on the chapter Web site at www.midwestpsychodrama.org pay $50 per year as a marketing member. For more information on membership, contact Karen Carnabucci at karen@companionsinhealing.com.
