Midway Girls Softball
At the Midway Girls Softball board meeting this week, several board
members have indicated a need to retire from the board to pursue
other volunteer interests. This will leave the league seriously
short of critical manpower needed to maintain the league for next
year and going forward.
Nominations and elections for new board members will begin at the
July 1st Board Meeting at Limestone Presbyterian Church on Limestone
Road (next to the Grange) at 7pm. All are welcome. If you want to
get involved in any other capacity you are also welcome. Currently,
the board meets monthly on the first Tuesday of each month (except
not in August).
Now is the time to consider giving a little more of your time to keep
this all volunteer league working (sorry no one gets paid $$$$ just
SMILES). If you have ideas of how things can be improved, COME ON
DOWN! Now is the time you can make a difference.
The League functions not only with great coaches but with the help of
a team of volunteers on a board of directors and committee
chairpersons to help get things organized like registrations, uniform
orders, age group co-coordinators, flyers, pictures, fundraisers,
sponsors, travel teams and tournaments, game schedules, equipment
purchases, umpiring, field construction and maintenance, concessions,
banquets and clinics, bookkeeping, websites and more.....
Unfortunately none of this just happens.
The sky is the limit. It is your league. If we all give a little we
can make a great difference and build on the hard work of many in the
past.
We are proud to present you with the first edition of our Web based
version of the Midway Girls Softball Newsletter. We want to thank
Erin Gantt, a 6 and under parent, especially for this new format and
design.
The newsletter contains these articles:
Games Schedules -- on the Web
Rules of Play
Fundraiser Information
Playoffs Begin for 10U
Travel Teams -- Tournaments
Concessions and You!
Midway's Code of Conduct
Support our Umpires
Parking--Consideration Required
