MICHIGAN GOURDS started up in 2005 as a place where people could come together, ask questions about all aspect of working with gourds and share ideas, tutorials and information. Many people wanted to see the formation of a Michigan Gourd Society so a group of new and old gourders came together and did form the Michigan Gourd Society which quickly became the Theta Chapter of the American Gourd Society.

If you have photos or news of events in your area please let us know as we would like to get that into the newsletter. Members of the Michigan Gourd Society are only too happy to bring along their gourds and equipment to share with other groups the fascination and joy of gourd art - so if you have a group who is looking for a project or a speaker just contact anyone in in here or email to MichiganGourdSociety@gmail.com.

Come talk about growing gourds, gourd seeds, trellising gourds, working with gourds, cleaning, embellishing, woodburning, painting and share photos of your projects. Don't forget to keep your sense of humor - some "disasters" have turned out to be spectacular works of art. If you have gourd questions I am sure there will be someone here who will be happy to help so just go ahead and ask!
