My motor has a 21" shaft, so I added 6" in height to the plan dimensions (based
on Jim's statement the the plan dimensions worked well with a 15" shaft motor).
Should've only added 3" instead, which iirc would put the transom height for a
long shaft motor at 19" vs the 21" I built it at. It appears the the plan
dimensions would work well for a standard 18" short shaft motor.I shouldve
caught that in retrospect as I've never heard of a motor with only a 15" shaft.
A rookie mistake that I shouldve caught by checking the actual configuration vs
implicitly trusting the plans.

You mentioned that you had to cut the transom down. What is the height of the
transom from the bottom of the boat after you cut it? I just thought I would
check mine out before I start painting.
