As far as gaming companies go, This is Not a money grab. This is to fix all the things we have thought for year were broken. This is to finally answer why are bane knight broken. This is to give us new rules and stats for 55 dollars a faction deck and a rulebook. GW sure as hell is not giving you a codex for 3-5 bucks. You have the option of downloading the rules and stat cards for free from thier website. The new warjacks will be made in plastic, most other stuff will still be pewter. The price of tin shyrocketing forced privateer to look for alternate materials. Since you get 10 fen blades for 50 bucks that are plastic compared to 5 termies...
If I felt MK II was a money grab I would not have typed this email.
I am aware of the mess Preston left at Pandy and i don't think I can fix it....
Maybe someone else would want to jump in there and be the ringleader.

Yes I still have LOTS of credit (600+). They just never answered my e-mails. My problem now is more gas money, and I am not sure Pandy would welcome me back after dropping off the face of the earth for 6 months. Preston set a very bad example and got banned. Though I did not skip out with medals and cash I was still almost as bad. I think you would have a better reception from them if I was not involved.
Now if PP will still honor my pressganger points AND you feel inclined to spend MY points on as much MK II rules and sups as I can get then go for it. As one of the original 6 from the PR group I still have a vested interest in seeing the group thrive. That means I could show up at random tourneys that you run if I had rules.
My big fear though is the MK II move was just a money grab just like (G)reedy (W)easels does every couple of years. That and I hate plastic figures.....

Do not let me get you down. It is a fine idea and you are just the one to pull it off.

Mike,
I am not sure of the Pandy Situation anymore. When I dropped out in late June/Early July Issah was doing a good job of helping. Between truck problems, and cash issues I have not been back. Now I can no longer afford to get into MkII.
That being said, I wish you luck and hope Brendon shows his always helpful side.

This board has largely been stagnant since my family shanghaied my life two or three years ago.
It used to be fun and exciting before the comong of the Call to Arms format.
I made it a point to type about new products and other one off leagues and battle reports and whatnots.
Times have changed emencely in three years.
Here is my idea.
I would like to pitch the idea of brining back the old Metro league.
I think renaming it the Michigan WARMACHINE and hordes league to be a bit more approprite.
But hewre is my current Idea.
Run and 8 week league starting in febuary.
THe Gamers Sanctuary and RIW have already been approached.
Pandemonium has not yet but I may drop Brandon a line in the next few days.
He has always been incredably supportive of the league and us.
Over the 8 weeks your first 6 games will count as you score to get a spot in the finals. If this happens the first finals would be set to be ran at RIW. Half the league particapants would have thier admission covered by me. The would also be an open tournament and a larger one since I aim to buld trophies and hand out swag like noones business as usual.
I am no fan of the Call to Arms league. I feel it has nt help grow our community compared too where I left off.
What are your thoughts?
What would you like to see?
Do you want me to bother putting this together?
Should I let the idea die?h

Well I keep looking at what they have done witht he currnet fieldtest stuff and the hordes feildtest is way ahead of the WARMACHINE one. I am not going to say it is a finished product but each friday there is a good amount of fixes each week. I have sopken to the powers that be today. After seeing the final WARMACHINE stuff which I should actually have my Prime MK II book in a couple weeks, I am happy enouigh to start thinking about taking a leap back into this whole running a ship like this while trying to fulfill my other obligations. The stats for WARMACHINE are it, As far as how do you play Khador? Well it is like before only your warjacks definatley are the playmakers in MK II. Infantry are nice and all but if it really needs to die hardcore a jack is your
best tool.
The hordes stuff should be at about its final look by febuary or the end of january I was told.
Now it doesnt matter if we are just lookign for an excuse to hang out, we dont like to loose. Is ressurecting the league a means of hosting a huge tournament in my mind?
First and foremost I want to erase the damage uncertainty in MK II and the hum drum of the Call to Arms where it mattered not if you won or lost but that you played more games than anyone else determined if you won. Playing a ton of game will most likely get your admission paid for the big tournament butthen you will have to fight your way to the top. I like the other awards as well. I don't like to overlook anyone if I can help it. I love well painted minis. I love reading fluff and battle reports. I love talkign about conversions and painting minis too. The tournament at the end is a measuring stick of how skilled of a player we have become and an excuse to hang out and play people we may only read posts in a forum o in this yahoogroup. This state had a great sense of community at one time. If it was on Greg Thompson's side of things or this groups side of things. It didnt matter we
were still enjoying this game. I have watched it die in my abscence. I have a means now to do something to give back to you guys for a while.
Do you want me to do it?

I think it's a wonderful way to get people going again. I know a lot of people would agree with Trace and are biding their time until things have calmed down into their final MkII form.
I for one am eager for the post-fieldtest Hordes stuff to come out sometime late January/early Feb. Then I'll feel the worst is over and we can be confident that things are pretty much settled.

Interesting subject Mike..
I for one still have a lot of unanswered questions about My faction and how I can perform with it in Mark II. What I need is games... Leagues help me do just that...get games in to figure out if Khador is still for me.
Organized play for me lets me get more games in. Not much on the Tourney scene as I just don't enjoy that aspect of the game anymore.
I do think there some opportunity to get a bit of unity with the Detroit guys who are playing. The organized play we start with Warmachine will go a long way when Hordes II comes out. I myself for right now am not doing a thing with my Skorne until how the faction will change with Hordes Mark II..
Do we still have a good core group playing Hordes and Warmachine at GS in Flint?

I too would like to discuss Mk II with you and all the guys playing at GS. I really want to hear their thoughts on the game. The field test we had long ago really for the most part produced positive results. Everybody seemed to like it myself included.
Well now in a couple of weeks we will see the final product. How much changed since the field test?
I think you are off to a good start Mike. I think someone needed to step forward and say lets get together and see for ourselves. You are providing a lot of different levels of play rather the games be big or small or league or tourney we will be able to play Mark II from many different angles.

Sounds good. Forgot about the battle report awards... might bug DiMuro to come back; we can resume our writing rivalry.
I'll bug people to come back here. Because I think a couple weeks might not give you an accurate measure of interest in a league; only interest in this board.

For now I want it talked about here for a couple weeks until I get a good feel onthe level of interest.
As always competitive casual.
Get your games in in the first week or one every other week. They may be 15 point games they may be 100 point games in MK II.
Every other week I will have a side competition as usualy and best battlereports will still win loot.
There will be 6 scenarios. They will be very Steamrollerish with a few tweaks.
Get your games in where ever. YOur basement, my basement, pandemonium, the sanctuary, RIW the local library.
Just email the results back to me.
If anyone is looking for information have them drop by here. That way I start using this board again for its intended role.
In january I will go publis as not to piss off privateer by saying to hell with your damned Call to arms..etc. Not that Im saying that. Im saying that I want to build a community again and have a huge get together three times a year.

Gut reaction? HELLS YEAH!!!
I'd be in, under the stipulation that we can get our games in when/where we can; my life is too chaotic to commit to a weekday night every week (or even every month), but my weekends are shaping up nicely.
It's been so long, I can barely remember the Metro League rules. Some questions...
Would you play one faction for the duration? (vote for yes, I think it's fun) Would there be scenarios or just play whatever you want? (vote for latter) Would we report games to you?
I'm sure there are some other questions/issues. .. but I'd love to see it and would like it kept simple; call to arms was too complicated. Metro League was so much nicer for its friendly, straight forward approach.
Btw, not many people watch this board anymore. I'll mention it to people as I talk to them, but if you haven't already thought of it, it might be worth putting on the main PP
boards.

I'll mention it to people as I talk to them, but if you haven't already thought of it, it might be worth putting on the main PP
boards.

I can see if the mrs will let me break away since I have an four and a half day weekend.
Where would you be able to play at and what time?
I would most likely drive down from flint here.

Anyone up for some gaming this weekend? Friday or Saturday.
MkII only please, but with field test for Hordes opening tomorrow, we're well on our way.

Hello all I was wondering if there is any interest in weekend Warmachine up at Pandemonium or if a group if playing at another location on the weekends already.
I am asking primarily because I can no longer attend the weekly game days due to my work schedule and would still like to get some play time in every now and then.
If anyone is interested in getting a game or 2 in on the weekend just send me a reply at azrieal4@yahoo. com.
