I pulled my wraiths out Wednesday for the first time in a while and showed Preston them. And the first couple games I saw them played People charged them and it had been so long (about two and a half months since I had used them.) Like any new model people tend to make mistakes until they work things out. Ken did a great job Chain lightning the two Machine wraiths and pistol wraith long before I could use them.:( I love them because they make warcasters nervous and they typically spend focus there instead of on other things. Like killing my warcaster. And a Machine wraith is a 21point headache if it possesses your 122 point warjack. Because you almost lose the ability to use the Jack for two or three turns.

Machine wraiths are tricky for sure. they have to be one of the best pts to pts wins when they pull meld off.
pg 40 Prime, a bash attack is a warjack only attack option.
warriors are not allowed to make bash attacks. the "if your not a warjack" comment sounds like your saying non warjack models (which are warrior models) can always make a bash attacks, is incorrect.

Along with the current league handbook with all the clarifications
and a facelift is a ton of files with spell counters and wreck
markers and errata.
The pictures were removed from the files hand book along with alot
of cleaning polishing and reorganizing it.
Feel free to download what you need and use it. Give the handbook a
good read through as a few bonus point objectives and terrain has
been cleaned up and reworked. Greg if any of it helps with your guys
feel free to use it. Hopefully I will not be reworking the entire
handbook again for the summer league. I should not have to.

Thanks Mike! We look forward to seeing people stop by and include us in all

This is something that was covered a while back. If you are not a warjack that is always allowed because they can make a bash attack. You do not get a melee attack if it is not listed on their card. Pistol wriaths and Bile thralls are the units off the top of my head that do not have one. This gives you a way around their particularly nasty shooting attacks. Since you may not shoot while engaged in melee. The wraith while Incorporeal may simply step away from melee though.

Seems to me if they get in melee, Gunwraiths use their base stregnth

Glad to have you on board.
The league handbook is in the process of getting cleaned up and
reposted to the files section. Other than that, thanks to Preston,
Scott, Renny, Elliot, Lance and the rest of the fellas for playing 18
games in the last two weeks.
Congratulations to Ken Redington for winning the First Domination
event and claiming a Guardian heavy warjack. And Elliott Jennings
for taking second place in this Event and choosing a Gunmage captain
blister to go with his fledgling Cygnar army.

Okay now that I have had a moment to do my homework.
A Wraith may never charge. Run and advance only. A Wraith may advance through friendly and enemy models and WHEN it declares the attack becomes solid because it loses the incorporeal ability. But it must have room to become whole when its movement ends. When it declares the attack because it loses the incorporeal ability it may then attack and be attacked for 1 round(two turns). But if the wraith does not have room to get in base with a model or warjack do to other models it may not be placed there.

I just updated the contact info to include our email addresses. Today is the last day of the first Domination event. So far Ken is on top with 69VP's followed by Elliott with 40 VP's and then third is a two way tie betwenn Scott McKeighan and Preston Hickok Sr. with 28 VP's.

Ken has a scheduling conflict and we have both the 2nd and 9th available to hold the league finals at Phoenix Rising Hobbies and games. Those who are signed up in the league please let me know which date works better. If you decide on the ninth it will add one more week to the league pushing the end date to Thursday April 6th for the last day to get your games in.
Wednesday night at Pandemonium in Garden City we will be have a Demo night and League night for the Metro WARMACHINE League. We'll be getting started around 5:30Pm till midnight. I will have all the starter boxes including mercenaries on hand to take for a spin.

The Metro WARMACHINE league is a league open to everyone in the Metro Detroit area. Pandemonium in Garden City and Phoenix Rising hobbies in Waterford are sponsoring the league to give out alot of loot and give league members two homes to get games in other than my house. But over the last month or so We have also had members from around frankenmuth and flint join in as well. The league does not have a specific start time but it will end March 30th. This date may be postponed for a week but due to a possible scheduling conflict.. All you need to do is finish eight games by March 30th to complete the league. We will still be taking signups for two more weeks to interested parties. You will not be scheduled to get in games against certain opponents. It will be anyone else in the league when ever you both can find time to play. So if you have a few friends you could all sign up together and just report your games back to me.
Every two weeks the league also has biweekly events for free mini's that run seperately from the standard league totals. Starting this wednesday will be the headhunter event. The most waraster scalps wins you a free heavy warjack of your choice and second place receives a blister of choice. This event will run for two weeks.

I have been wanting to start a painting thread for a while. And share what I know and maybe get some ideas from you as well.
Do you preassemble your models or do you prefer to paint them then assemble them after so you paint everything? I have known people who follow both approaches. I prefer to preassemble my models so I can get them on the table and use them before they are finished. That and I get a better idea on what should be shaded after the model is assemled. And I will admit I'm a bit lazy too. So why sould I paint something that will be covered up after it is assembled.
What is the Best painting guide you have read through? So far the most helpful one I have read is actually inside reapers Warlord Hardcover rulebook. The new GW one is good and I think it is the only one GW has put out that is worth a read. Both WARMACHINE books have some really good pointers as far as telling you what painters actually use and If you are just getting started you should ask around about the techniques mentioned.
What paints do you prefer?
Vallejo? Citadel? Reaper? Testors?Other?
I use about 65% Reaper,25% Vallejo and about 10% Citadel.
I used to use mostly Citadel(GW) paint but I piocked up alot of vallejo stuff aftert going to the first adepticon. Then when I started doing paint clinics for Reaper I got hooked on their paint line. They blend wonderfully and are a little stronger than GW paint straight out of the bottle.
Vallejo paint is an opac paint and is as thick of a paint in the model acrylic lines. I love valllejos whites and yellows since these are very strong colors and hard to pulloff with other lines. That and when highlighting I like to mix in a little vallejo white to whatever base color I'm using to layer my highlights no matter if it is Citadel or reaper or another vallejo color. The highlights are bold and bright.
The most important rule I have found with paint.
Always thin your paint.
As bottles of paint sit on the shelf they breath. Meaning they thicken up. If your paint has thickened up. It will glob onto your model covering detail and it will not flow out of your brush.
Making it harder to control. With acrylics water will thin it down but you may want to pick up one of the thinning additives found at art shops. I prefer to use Liquitex Flo-Aid. I usually put a little dot on my pallet I'm working on to thin my paint periodically. This also helps when you are mixing colors of paint. This may also be used with Inks to keep them from being blotchy. If you have an older bottle of ink that is dried out some it usually will not flow onto the model well anymore. Either an Ink extender or a thinning additive can restore this with a little water.
Brush control.
Always use the tip of you brush. If you are doing fine detail or small areas you will want to use thin paint and wipe excess paint off before applying it to your model. Or maybe mix a half paint half ink mix to get the flow propertirs of the ink and the pigmant of the paint.

Hey guys I have had a few questions about the dwarf warcasters abilities I have not found on the forum. Perhaps you could give me a hand.
Gortens Feat Landslide:
If enemy models are engaged in melee by other models in Gortens army when he uses this can they be pulled out of melee and if so does Gortens models get Free stikes? In the case of Slams,throws and pushes where you do not get free strikes. It specifically states you do not get free strikes.
Solid Ground and my Trollkin.
If the trollkin are in the warcasters control area and take suffecient damage to be destroyed and make their toughness roll I assume nothing happens since they cannot be knocked down in Gortens control area.

The second Biweekly event has just come and Gone. And since I have not received word of any Warcasters being sacked. Noone won the second goody bag raid. Again attached is a Word version of the Standings and current contacts.
The Current Goody Bag raid is DOMINATION. With each game give me your VP total along with the win or loss even if the scenario does not require it. The person with the highest total wins a heavy warjack, Second place wins a Blister of choice.
Keep on playing and reporting your games. And Welcome Preston Hickok Sr. and James Peace to the league.

Scott and Renny brought it to my attention that they felt the +5VP's for the hunted scenario was unbalanced. Play it as it is written. So yes a Menoth rack would be worth 5VP's and a Khador Juggernaught would be worth 9VP's. Leave it as is for this league. And for Now the King of Cygnar should not play with Menoth racks as they are very destructive. I beleive the +5VP's makes the scenario more balanced than doubling the VP's one say a Single unit when Khador Warjacks are worth 4VP's each and nothing else in the game is. That and it is more on par with the scenario overveiw.
Gorten looked across the battlefeild. Angling atop a rock to get a
better veiw of the wreckage that was left of the caravan that had
attempted to come through here. Then he caught a glimpse of the Iron
lich himself. Looking at the signs of corrosion on the wagons and
horses he knew the Lich was responcible. Gorten Bellowed to
Boomhowler and Sam MacHorne. Gather the treasure. We're here to
retreive as much of it as we can lads'. Knowing boomhowlers lads
weren't the quitting type he started off casting Solid Ground for
them to stand on. As He gace the Order to take the loot. He Spied
the secretive Elf Eryiss holding the Priceless Crown of old King
Korsk. Then the Artillery of the Bloat thralls Opened up on the Lead
troillkin. One Fell. Then After he found a chest of Gold the
Trollkins whole world exploded as a Bloat thrall hit its mark. The
Trollkins amazing constitution saved four of the seven of them.
Gorten called up his Driller to fill the gap as Boomhowlers boys fell
back from all the bombardment. In the Meantime the Devilk dogs swept
of the the left and were making great use of some ruined builings to
retreive some silks and spices. Then Gorten and his gunner and
driller were bombarded with everything the Lich had at his disposal.
The area was saturated with Bloat thrall blast after blast. The
Driller was blasted with one Iron Blight after another and more Hell
fire than you could shake a bodger at.
The Driller that was holding onto the chest of gold the Trollkinn
dropped. And Again the Iron lich threw all hell at his disposal at
them. His two jacks quickly were becoming scrap as he pushed a
Machine wraith out of his trusty Gunner Dead Eye. Gorten summoned
his innerstrength to him and used it to create a landslide to push
the Lich's troops away to buy time to get the treasure out.
The Lich's troops picked themselves up and finished off both Dead eye
and Grindstone the driller. Then Gorten grabbed the chest of Gold
and threw up a Stonewall to cover him so he could retreat.
Getting back to camp. He found the Devil dogs carrying a chest of
silks and spices and a chest containing the long lost sacred gold
Chamber pot of Sul. He realised they would all be well rewarded even
if he had to drag boomhowler off the battlefeild badly burned and
unconsious.

season games. Every two week are also events based on how your games
go in the league. The winner of these events receives a heavy
Warjack and second receives a Blister of choice worth up to 15.00.
The two week events run from Wednesday to the next wednesday of that
two week period.
Your first eight games in the league count toward your win-loss
record. YOU MUST CHOOSE A SINGLE FACTION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE
LEAGUE. This faction will be used for your first eight games and the
league final. ANygames beyonf eight will earn you a tie breaking
point. More on that later.
