I discovered metal clay about three years ago when I saw a beautiful silver necklace someone was wearing. She told me that her mother made it and that the silver came from recycled film and x-rays. That got my attention immediately! The minute I came home I Googled PMC and I was hooked! That very day I bought some clay and a small analog kiln. I started making jewelry right away and reading everything I could read about metal clay. Of course I became a tool fiend too! I became a Certified PMC Artisan a few months later in June 2007. A year later I bought my digital kiln after I melted a perfectly good linked bracelet. Most of my jewelery has been given away as gifts to my friends. I sold my first piece this fall and I was invited to sell my work at a new gallery that features local artists here in Charlotte NC. In my real life I'm a Nurse Practitioner whose day job takes up way too much time from what I really love to do, make jewelry!
