Description

Mere Benedictines

Welcome to all who have an interest in St. Benedict, his Rule and how to live the Rule. We come together because we want to fall more completely in love with God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We recognize that we come from different walks of life, denominations, churches and creeds. Christ said the mark of his followers would be their love for one another. We hope to show that mark in mutual kindness and support within the framework of The Rule of Benedict.

May we do as St. Benedict counseled and look for the face of Jesus in each other.

What is On Topic for this group is the Rule and how we conform ourselves to the Rule.

What is Off Topic are posts that say "My approach to God is better than yours."

What is also Off Topic are potentially controversial subjects. Goodness knows we all have issues but let ***all*** conversation relate to the Rule of St. Benedict. That will be hard, I know, but I betcha we can do it.

Strive to avoid giving offense and do not easily take offense. Consider that offense can be as much in the hearing as in the speaking.

It is inevitable that we will disagree with each other. What matters is how we disagree. If we can do so while respecting the dignity of all involved and while relating to the RB, the moderators will let the discussions go where they will. We would love to see all topics discussed civilly from a Benedictine point of view.

For the purposes of this list, no one denomination, or church is superior to another. All are to be treated with equal respect. While the basic subject matter is necessarily Christian, the same respect will be extended to non-Christian participants.

May the Holy Spirit dance in our hearts,
Sister Gloriamarie Amalfitano, Episcopal Solitary
