It's sad that so many men have allowed themselves
to believe the distortions and outright lies that
the feminist movement has espoused. Fortunately, it
seems that some are starting to see through all the
nonsense (and I'm using a euphemism for another noun
here).<br><br>By the way, I was able to find 'misogyny' in the
dictionary (Webster's Collegiate), but not 'misandry.'

Thanks for the online article, sbotchie.<br><br>I
suppose part (but not all) of my motivation for creating
this club is the recent "living hell" that my female
ex-supervisor had put me through. I made the mistake of getting
on the wrong side of her cronies when I first
arrived at this job in the Denver area, and after that
she wouldn't let up on me, in spite of the fact that
I was doing the best that I could to do a good job
in a disorganized dumpster of a work environment.
She would berate me for the slightest, pettiest
things, and couldn't tolerate it if I showed any distress
(after all, males are potentially violent you know).
Thank goodness that I finally got away from her by
moving to another unit. She has since stepped down from
being a supervisor after breaking down at a meeting (so
I was told), and claiming that she couldn't take
the stress of being a supervisor anymore. She also
claimed how much she cared about her employees (yeah,
right).<br><br>Oh, one of her "gems":<br><br>At a meeting for our
unit: "We're sending [you all] to diversity training
... there's too many white males in [our
agency]"<br><br>What a social idiot ...

Nowadays, men in general are portrayed (by many
women and some men) as everything except as "human
beings". Nowadays, in my personal experience, if I say
that "men are human beings too", I will be receiving
all kinds of scrutiny from lots of women (and
sometimes men). The overall climate of "anti-male" thinking
(hostility toward males) is becoming more VICIOUS nowadays.
Lord have mercy on the men who are admitted in
hospitals and/or some other "medical" establishment and
encounter docters and/or nurses who are filled with hatred
or bias toward males. It is going to be quite an
experience for those guys.

Thank you sbotchie for that "stimulating"
article. You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT about this. I know, I
have a female boss (several actually) whom I just
can't figure her out whatsoever. In essence, you don't
know where you stand with this type of person and
therefore, your work environment can be quite stressful.

I wonder if mensactivism is becoming the (latest)
victim of the "LACE CURTAIN". For those that do not
understand what "lace curtain" means, it is a form of
CENSORSHIP which many feminists use in order to suppress
and/or silence anything which goes against their
viewpoints regarding feminism and women's issues. As far as
I know, this (American) society is become or
becoming a "feminist/femi-male" controlled society and
therefore, I am not surprised about this particular
scenario.

Just a few years ago, I used to be a
male-feminist because I had believed that the feminists were
fighting for "equal rights". Thank god that I have wised
up and seen the light. The feminists (at least most
of them) are NOT fighting for "equal rights", they
are fighting for a woman's right to empower herself
BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. In other words, if women are
engaging in misandry (female hatred of males),
male-bashing, and female chauvinism in order to empower
themselves, then, as far as the feminists are concerned,
these methods are okay (and necessary). This explains
why so many people (both men and women) are willing
to defend and/or tolerate misandry, male-bashing,
and female chauvinism. THANK GOD THAT I HAVE WISED
UP.

The best site for news for men has trouble. We
need Scott far more than he needs us!!!<br><br>I can't
get any response from his e-mail, which may not exist
anymore.From Scott
Garman:<br><br>&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;&gt;Hello all,<br><br>I'm afraid
I have some very bad news
to give. As of midday on Tuesday, August 7,
my<br>internet service provider, AT+T Broadband, blocked all
incoming connections that make<br>use of port 80. Port 80
is the standard port which web servers listen for
connections<br>on, and this blockage was implemented to prevent
customers of AT+T Broadband from<br>running web servers
from home (click here to see for yourself).<br><br>Due
to budget constraints, I was running the web server
from my home cable modem<br>connection. When I first
started Mensactivism.org, my ISP was MediaOne, which
was<br>tolerant of home servers and did not prohibit them in its
service agreement. When<br>MediaOne was bought out by
AT+T, I made sure to check and double check the
updated<br>service agreement to ensure that this policy did not
change. Unfortunately, when I view<br>AT+T's service
agreement now, it explicitly does state that home servers
are prohibited.<br>I believe this was a recent
development, and today was totally caught off guard by
it.<br><br>I am greatly disappointed that AT+T chose to
implement this block so suddenly and<br>without warning to
its subscribers. More importantly, I need to find a
new service<br>provider for the Mensactivism.org web
server. This is not quite as simple as picking a<br>web
hosting company and transferring some files - the Slash
web engine that runs the<br>site is very
sophisticated and requires a customized setup which includes
installing<br>several Perl modules and compiling the apache web server
and the mod_perl addons in a<br>specific way. What
that means is that in order to bring the site back up,
I must lease a<br>server or build another computer
and have it hosted independently, which is
very<br>expensive (approx. $150/month).<br><br>Right now I have a
couple of other possibilities that I am looking into. I
will update<br>this page with more information when it
becomes available. Believe me, I am not happy<br>about
this, and will do what I can to come up with a solution
to this problem.<br><br>Scott Garman<br>Site

Thanks for your posting, Marquis.<br><br>These
'idiot male' commercials are appalling. I can remember
several others myself, such as the woman who slaps her

something "so therefore you wouldn't understand me." I

It seems that a good indication of just how bad
things are getting is when 'idiot male' commercials are
targeted toward male consumers...and apparently
working!<br><br>Early this morning, I was watching male oriented
TV(sports)just to see what type of commercials were playing on
'man TV'. Within minutes, I found 2 examples
[back-to-back] on FOX SPORTS channel of 'idiot male'
commercials...and they were obviously aimed at male consumers.
<br><br>One of them was an ad for Fox Sports promoting Troy
Aikmen and some other ex-football player as the newest
members of the Fox broadcast team. It starts out with
Troy and (I think) Moose Johnson standing in a room
when Troy says, in a wimpish, apologetic tone, "Hey
Luce, can you give us some makeup tips." The camera
then cuts away to an Asian women (I think it is Lucy
Lu from Charlie's Angels) looking in a mirror and
applying makeup. She then whirls around and gives them
that arrogant, condescending bitch-look as if to
say,"How dare you even speak to me, the Goddess." She did
not say that...but that was the look...as all males
know of what I speak. She just stands there--glaring
at them. Then Troy explains , very apologetically,
trying to appease the almighty Goddess, who he now
realizes that he has angered by daring to speak to her,
that they will need to wear make-up for the TV camera
and they will need some tips on how to apply it. The
obviously perturbed Goddess, with her arms folded as if she
is mother scolding son, then says somewhat angrily,
"Why are you trying to suck-up to me?" Then Troy and
Moose wimpishly stumble and fumble their words trying
to appease the angered Goddess.<br><br>It was
pathetic! Do males have such a low sense of self-worth(not
to be confused with self-esteem) that this type of
advertising actually sells to them? And what kind of men are
Troy and Moose that they would allow themselves to be
portrayed as wimps? <br><br>Remember that song...about 5
years ago by Paula Cole, "Where have all the cowboys
gone?" <br><br>What has happened to men?<br><br>Marquis

Welcome to the club, Bernee. I see that you're
from Australia, as is Quuilpy. In fact, I visited
Australia for 2 months back in 1987 (as I was living in New
Zealand at the time - a long story).<br><br>Anyway, I
thought that it would be interesting if our new members
introduced themselves, and perhaps gave an opinion or told a
story about their experiences with anti-male
bias.<br><br>What else can I say? I'm not denying that women (as
well as men) can be victims of injustice. I just think
that feminism in it's current form has taken a
one-sided and destructive approach to equality.

warden of rape...because "he has the equipement" This
"joke" shows the horrible truth of the power of women to

little if anything is done to her although it has ruined

because men screw up so often. <br>39. We can give "the
look" that will make any man want to cower in the
corner. <br>40. Women are cleaner. <br>41. Women have
more than one erogenous zone. (in case you guys didn't
know) <br>42. We're better arguers. <br>43. We don't
always have to think with our genitals. <br>44.
Massage!!!! <br>45. We're better parents. <br>46. We never
have to sit home alone on a weekend night. <br>47.
There's never a shortage of ready, willing, and able men.
<br>48. We're flexible. <br>49. When women get upset, we
don't destroy property or hurt people - we just take it
out on the world in general because we can.

I have been following the anti-male bias
prevalent in this country for a few years now, and I
believe it is a huge tragedy, especially for young men
and boys just learning their gender
identity.<br><br>The good news is that some people are starting to
notice (i.e. this club).<br><br>Here are a few URLs that

&#61623; The media presents a distorted picture
of men by concentrating on the worst individuals,
and the worst aspects of men. Men are portrayed as
violent and perverted at worst; boorish and slovenly at
best. The media also puts an anti-male interpretation
on many situations. If women are at a disadvantage
in some area, it is because of male oppression; if
men are at a disadvantage it is because of their
inherent inferiority.<br>&#61623; It is acceptable (and
even "funny") for a woman to hit or slap a man on TV
or in the movies, while a man who hits a woman is
considered abusive. This attitude carries over into
real-life situations as well. <br>&#61623; Men are expected
to have relationships and marriages, and are
expected to take the initiative in approaching women. It
is not always evident whether men's interest will be
welcome or not, and when it isn't it can be regarded as
"sexual harassment." Men are thus forced to choose
between risking committing sexual harassment having the
stigma of being unmarried. <br>&#61623; A man who is
unmarried has a "fear of commitment," while a woman who is
unmarried is "strong" and "independent."<br>&#61623; An
attractive woman often has the option of marrying a well-off
man; the reverse usually doesn't apply for
men.<br>&#61623; If a man's marriage does break up, it is the
ex-wife that receives alimony and child support, even if
she is able to support herself. Father's rights in
child custody cases are limited compared to the
mother's rights.<br>&#61623; Fathers have no reproductive
rights, as a mother can choose to abort an unborn child
or to have the child (which the father is
responsible for supporting even if he is denied access to
it). <br>&#61623; Flawed research studies result in
statistics and reports claiming that men and boys have an
unfair advantage over women and girls. The much-touted
claim that women earn 70 cents for every dollar that
men earn was calculated by dividing the gross average
salary of women by that of men. This does not take into
account the fact that men work longer hours, and women
work at more part time positions. Also, some of these
studies have reached the erroneous conclusion that girls
are shortchanged by the education system (even though
well over half of college students are female). This
has resulted in policy changes in some schools that
have resulted in a type of gender-apartheid where
girls and boys are separated from each other.
<br><br>In summary, western society has reached a sorry
state of affairs in gender issues, where feminists have
become a hate group of their own. Their current attitude
of hostility and mistrust toward males merely
antagonizes and alienates men and boys. Pitting women and
girls against men and boys ultimately serves the
interests of neither. <br><br>Clearly, what is needed is an
alternative to the current misguided feminism. It would be
better if there was a movement that aimed to change the
traditional roles of both genders while still respecting the
rights of both men and women. Fortunately, there are
many people (of both genders) who have become
disillusioned with the current state of feminism. Individuals
and groups (such as the men's movement) are a good
start. Hopefully, these groups will help move society
toward a better equilibrium between the sexes in the
future.

The Need for an Alternative Approach to Gender
Equality<br><br>Males and females have patterns of ability, thought and
behavior that are different from, not superior to, each
other. Life has been difficult and hazardous for both
sexes throughout most of recorded history. Men and
women have survived by taking on those roles that they
were best suited to. Prior to the industrial
revolution, most work was in agriculture. Most men would work
in the fields as they generally had greater physical
strength. As the death rate was much higher than today,
women would tend to have many children and be
responsible for childcare. These roles originated out of
necessity, rather than from a desire of men to oppress
women. Indeed, men would be expected to protect their
families, while women would nurture them. In this way men
and women would use their complementary strengths to
help each other survive.<br><br>A profound change in
employment patterns occurred with the industrial revolution
of the 19th century, followed by the growth of
white-collar work in the 20th century. Work became less
physical and more cerebral. These changes were paralleled
by improvements in living standards that resulted in
lower mortality rates and greatly increased lifespans.
As a result, women no longer had the need to have
large families, and were able to move into the
workforce in greater numbers. <br><br>Early in the 20th
century, there were some genuine inequalities between the
sexes that needed to be addressed (women's suffrage
would be a good example). It could have also been
pointed out at that time that there were many aspects of
life that are unfair to men. Even 30 years ago, one
rallying cry of the women's movement was "equal rights for
all; special privileges for none." Unfortunately, the
goals of the feminist movement appear to have shifted
from equality to entitlement for women. Here are
several cases in point:<br><br>&#61623; A feminist or
female viewpoint is seen as superior to a male's, and
those men who disagree are labeled "sexist,"
"chauvinist," and "misogynist." This is in itself arbitrary,
sexist and chauvinistic. It should also be noted that
that many women don't subscribe to a feminist
viewpoint.<br>&#61623; Women only situations (e.g. Universities, health
clubs) are considered "progressive"; men-only situations
(e.g. the Virginia Military Institute, sports clubs)
are considered "sexist," and are grounds for
litigation.<br>&#61623; Men's lives are seen as more expendable than
women's lives. Throughout history, men have been the ones
to fight and lose their lives in wars (although
admittedly many civilian casualties are women). Men are
required to register with selective service; women are
not. <br>&#61623; Men are more likely to go to jail
for a particular crime than women are. Furthermore,
almost all executions are of men, even though women
commit a significant (although lower) number of serious
crimes. <br>&#61623; Males have higher death rates than
females at all ages. Men tend to work in the most
dangerous occupations, and thus have a higher occupational
injury and death rate.
