Everyone knows that Farmers Branch [the hometown of both Michael Nesmith and Meat Loaf] is not just a place but a state of mind!

I now live in another suburb of the Dallas area, but Farmers Branch will forever be "my hometown."

Are you a current or former Farmers Branch resident? If so, please join this group and start sharing all those memories of and factoids about the history of Farmers Branch (e.g., Valwood Park with the giant robot, Rawhide Creek, the Four Corners Shopping Center, Griffin's Barbershop, M.E. Moses, Dan Magee's Sporting Goods, Bill Allen and Happening Sound, Gino's Pizza, Gussie Field Waterworth Park, Northtown 6 Shopping Mall, "the mansion," the YMCA, "the bridge" over LBJ Freeway).

The photo on the right is of the now defunct Valley View Pharmacy (or "Sussman's" as it was called in my family), which now houses a dry cleaning establishment. I took the photo of the sign shortly before it was removed.
