I'll try to drum up support for the game in advance. What I'll need
to know is:

1.) How many people minimum will be needed to run this event?

2.) How many of the modules are you going to run, and when?

3.) When will this event appear on Warhorn.net?

4.) Will be people be able to pre-reg for events on Warhorn.net, or
do we have to sign up for events that morning?

This is sort of a chicken and the egg sort of thing. As for how many
people minimum to run the events, I believe the RPGA sets it at 4
players plus one judge with a maximum of 6 players plus one judge.

As for how many, we'll run as much as you have 4 players signed up
for. If they don't show up, we'll try to figure something out. The key
here is resource allocation as you might imagine. Of course we want to
run game that people want to play, but historically, we've had very
little call for Star Wars and no takers last year when we had it on
the site.

These events will show up as "Star Wars" on Warhorn.net ASAP. Have
your folks preregister on the site and select the tables. If we can
get a table made of players preregistered, we'll have the judges and
we'll play as many as you guys can handle.

Just to be clear, if you bring them to pre-reg, we'll coordinate for
running the events. If the tables don't make at the con, it will be
just like any other event that doesn't make. In years previous, we
asked for slot payment prior to the onsite to give people skin in the
game to ensure they showed. Being polite and a slight bit later in
launching this year, we're forgoing that which can create a bit of an
issue potentially.

Best!

So, I couldn't help but notice that there's no Warmachine/Hordes even
listed for 2009's gaming page. While I attribute this partially to the
participation last year (if that's what it can be called - 2 people, and
I think they were playing the same fracking list), it is still worth
noting that people do tend to come to these things with their minis if
there's some chance they'll be able to play. I know that's kind of what
open gaming is for, but I'd like to see a WM/Hordes event happen at
Megacon, if only to justify painting and lugging my pieces up there.

Thanks!

Here's a deal for all you WM/Hordes players.

I can't put on an event this year, so how about starting a list of players for next year?

You post a message with " WM/Hordes " as the subject.  If enough are interested maybe I can swing something for next year.

Same things goes for Warhammer.  Post an e-mail with either "40K" or" WFB" as the subject.

If I get enough interest on any or all games I will pass the numbers on to the boss.  She will be the final decision maker.

MegaCon 2009 is over a year away so start spreading the word and show me some numbers.

And if you want to open game we can try and find you some room.

Dominick -

Thanks for that offer.

Also, since Friday and Sunday are light gaming days in the main hall there may be space there to use for open gaming.  Just be aware that it closes earlier than the breakout rooms.

Informally I may have space for a couple of people on Friday or Sunday. I already told a couple 40k friends that we can meet and hang out, and if I had a table they can play.

Hey, Joe.

I'm wanting to put together my promotional fliers and post about the
Star Wars Minis tournament on the various SWM boards. Do you know what
room we'll be using for SWM?

I know the convention's main hall/dealer's room is Hall D. Last year
SWM was actually *inside* the dealer's room, but in previous years it
has been in rooms outside the main hall.

If you can let me know, that'd be great. Thanks!

Right now the game list shows  Room 221 C.

I can still put you in the Main Hall as in the past.

Joe,

Here are the games I intend to run this year. I know you have been
having e-mail issues so I am posting them here as well. Let me know
if there are any issues.

Ed Young

For Friday and Sunday at 2PM:

War Orphans

A territorial war with savage tribes from the north has recently
ended after 100 years. The city of Tekrit was desperate for soldiers
during this war and made a desperate plea to the savage species in
surrounding lands: "Fight for us and we will grant you
citizenship!"  Many monsters took up this call and fought for Tekrit;
leading them to victory. As expected, many soldiers died leaving
many war orphans behind. You are one of these orphans and you have
been told that the offer of citizenship was extended to those who
served during the war, NOT their children……..but, you still might be
able to gain what you seek if you are prepared to offer the city
your "services"……

***SPECIAL NOTE*** This is a 1st level campaign using the 3.5 Edition
rules of Dungeons & Dragons. All Characters must be 1st-level
monstrous characters from the Savage Species Books. All books,
character sheets, and dice will be provided if you do not have your
own. Veteran and first-time players welcome! Any questions please e-
mail me at mistnshadows@...!

For Saturday ONLY at 2pm:

Hunt for the Venerable Drake

While you are passing through the free-port of Galishor, you visit
the establishment of Hlavius Griff, one of the town's largest and
powerful merchants. His motto is: "If you have the gold, I have the
goods!" The shop's assistants attend to you, recommending the
priciest items. From the back comes wailing and groaning. "Oh,
that's Master Griff," a clerk explains. He leans forward and
whispers, "terrible news today….he lost a ship today, fully loaded on
the reefs north of town! The Master spent all morning trying to
convince the crew to go back but they won't go for ANY price. Say,
do you know of anyone willing to earn some fast gold for a small
errand…….?"

***SPECIAL NOTE*** This is a 7th-level campaign using the 3.5 Edition
rules of Dungeons & Dragons. Characters can be 7th-level characters
from the Standard races or they can be monstrous. All books,
character sheets, and dice will be provided if you do not have your
own. Veteran and first-time players welcome! Any questions please e-
mail me at mistnshadows@...!

My 3 buddies and I are interested in doing a Shadowrun on Saturday
slot 7 (2-6pm). We have only played a few time in the past but
wanted to try our hand at it again this year. We plan on having our
characters already done and ready to play. Can we sign up ahead of
time or are the tables first come first served? We are not really
particular about the scenario, but something fun & exciting would be
great. Let me know what info you would need ahead of time. We look
forward to playing the newer 4th ed. rules (though we only played
the 3rd ed once, LOL)

I'll try to drum up support for the game in advance. What I'll need
to know is:

1.) How many people minimum will be needed to run this event?

2.) How many of the modules are you going to run, and when?

3.) When will this event appear on Warhorn.net?

4.) Will be people be able to pre-reg for events on Warhorn.net, or
do we have to sign up for events that morning?
