I have passed your inquiry on to the coordinator that knows more about card games than I do.
If you don't get a response back from myself or someone else from the con within a week let me know.

Hey all...I am planning to come to MegaCon if at all possible.

I plan to judge at least four slots (I figure if I run 'ULP8-1 Words
of Wisdom' then nobody has to eat it), but that depends...

....is anyone looking for a roommate for the con?

(I know this isnt strictly a gaming question, but I'm putting feelers
out) :)

Drop me a line offlist if you're looking for someone to split a room
with, or you have a spot on a floor :D

Thanks,

Daniel Gray

Greetings Fellow Gamers,

I know this is a little late, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that made MegaCon 2008 such a great experience(Especially Beth, Joe, Dustin and too many others to mention). We saw familiar faces and new ones at the SOTA tables this year and the response was very positive for our new adventure that we play-tested, Bite the Bulette. Thanks for your feedback and support. We can't wait to see you in 2009. Expect some big surprises next year.

Nope, Dominick, that is for Hurricon in Orlando sponsored by HMGS-South.com

I mistakenly sent this to the Yahoo Group instead of directly to Joe Caso...but anyhow.

We do miniature historical war gaming, as well as others including RPG, Sci-Fi, and some Pokemon this year.  Board Games will have their own room this year as well.

Check us out at www.hmgs-south.com and see if there is a tournament you might be interested in playing as well.

The room count is moving up steadily, BTW, but we are still short.

MegaCon is going as planned.

Well folks, this "thread" popping up makes me post this a little sooner than planned but . . .

I am now accepting game submissions from GMs who want to run games at MegaCon 2009.

Just about everything is on the table with the exception of miniature tournaments like Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40K.  We won't be having those in 2009.

If you are interested in running a game please e-mail and let me know the game name and system, day(s) time(s) and the number of players.

In the meantime check out the MegaCon site if you haven't been there recently and see who the guests we are lining up.

Also, if you are interested in running a game, please let me know.

Hey all,

Since 2001 I've been running a very successful Paranoia LARP at
Megacon in Orlando. We had to skip last year, as I could not get
things together due to job issues, but I really want to run it this
year. If I can get a game up for 09, this will be the game's eighth year.

Megacon 2009 is February 27th to March 1st. The game would be on the
Saturday, February 28th and would most likely run from 2pm to 6pm.
Game size is typically around 80 players.

To anyone willing to GM I can guaruntee a free Saturday pass, and
possibly a place to stay Friday night before the con. It's a fair
amount of work but it's really fun and rewarding.

Tone wise, the game is based off 2nd edition Paranoia. The system is
a very elegant, simple home-brew based in some ways off of West End's
old Ghostbusters system. It is essentially GM-less--that is, no GM is
required by the players to resolve any combat or conflict. The GMs in
our game basically play the NPCs at the various service stations in
the game where players can go to receive missions. The players are in
groups of 8-10, and must complete missions to receive items of value
to the various secret societies. The game takes place in and around
the actual convention hall floor.

If you are interested, or have any questions, feel free to shoot me an
email at jamesbarratt [at] gmail [dot] com.

Thank you!

Yours in service to Friend Computer,
-James Barratt

Hi !
If you have not been to the MegaCon site recently you've missed the first listing of games that we will have in store for all.
Take a look and let me know if there is anything you want, but don't see.
We are light on miniatures, but big on board games this year.
Some games missing from the list, but will be there are Shadowrun, Star Wars Minis and Hero Clix.

Well we have a few more entries on the gaming page so drop by and
check them out.

Besides Hall D being the main hall for the convention, we look to be
using several breakout rooms. All are on the same level as Hall D
and are in the same area.

Tentatively we are using . . .
Rooms 230 A & B for Blackhorn
Rooms 230 C & D for Paint and Take
Rooms 221 A & B for Showcase RPG, Clix Board Games and what have you
Rooms 221 D & E for LARP OWBN
Rooms 224 D & H LARP
Hall D for Paranoia and additional gaming

Hope this helps.

I am running a Rifts game at MegaCon and I am looking for players. I will be
running Fri-2-6
PM and Sat 9 AM - 1 PM. The Saturday session may be a continuation of the Friday
game or
it may be a different scenario.
I will have pre-generated characters available and I may allow characters
brought in by
players. I do have a few restrictions on characters brought in by players: The
scenario(s) will
most likely involve fighting CS, so I prefer not to have players running CS
characters. The only
OCC/MOS's allowed will be from the core Rifts/Rifts Unlimited books. Also, only
1st level
characters are allowed for the Friday session. I might allow 2nd or 3rd level
characters for
the Saturday session if any characters from the Friday session have advanced.
Any questions can be directed to me at stanley_chesser@.... As the con
gets closer
and I have more info on the scenario(s), I will post it here on the message
board.

Hi All!

For those of you who know me, I'm baaaack!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a troll and I run games at
the con. Hence, "CON-Troll". Clever, yes?

Oh, all right. A few details then. Every year I run my "CON-Troll"
game library at local conventions. The premise is simple. I set out
a whole bunch of games (everything from Munchkin to Axis & Allies) on
tables so that folks can stop by and play something when they're
between other games, sessions, panels, whatever. Also, I try to run
something "unique" that you won't find elsewhere. Previous players
may remember "OGRE Macrotures" and "Capital Ship Combat" to name a
few. This year it's a "Hot Wheels Race Rally". A big dual-lane
track that includes a ramp drop, loop and jump on the way to a finish
flag. The cool thing is that YOU get to race against everyone else.
Even cooler, you can bring your own Hot Wheels cars (or Matchbox, or
Johnny Lightening, etc.) As long as it fits on the track (and isn't
a blatant attempt to cheat) you can race with it! There will be
prizes and maybe (I said "maybe") trophies awarded to the top racers!

Details are still being hammered out exactly where I will be this
year, but odds are good that it will be down in the main hall again
as in previous years. Watch the gaming page at the Megacon site for
an update listing where the Hot Wheels Rally and game library will be.

Be sure to stop in, play some games, or at least say "Hi"!

Hey, I'm interested in running some games at MegaCon this year on
Friday & Saturday. Joe, I know this is your domain so what do I need
to do?

I'm specifically interested in running Ironclaw & Star Wars Saga
Edition. Thanks!

David  -
And all other interested GM . . .
Since there looks to be slots open, just send me a write up for your games, how many players, day and time.
If you want I will also have your e-mail listed with the entry so gamers can get in touch with you to ask questions and sign up.
Get me a .jpeg or logo for the game I will try and have that on the web page also.
And like usual, you get in free on the day you run a game.
Hope that helps.
Later,
Joe

Absolutely...that helps a lot actually. 8) I'm trying to get a couple
of friends to run a few games too. I don't remember if there was any
WoD going and I know they do some of that among other games. I'll do
some writeups around the weekend (plane rides are good for that sorta
thing ;) ) and get it all to you as soon as I can!

To Whom it May Concern....

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, our best
wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low
stress, non-addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter
solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of
the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of
your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions
and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice
religious or secular traditions at all.

In addition, please also accept our best wishes for a fiscally
successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated
recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year
2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of
other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make this
country great (not to imply that this country is necessarily greater
than any other country or area of choice), and without regard to the
race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual
orientation of the wishers.

This wish is limited to the customary and usual good tidings for a
period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday
greeting, whichever comes first. "Holiday" is not intended to, nor
shall it be considered, limited to the usual Judeo-Christian
celebrations or observances, or to such activities of any organized
or ad hoc religious community, group, individual or belief (or lack
thereof).

Note: By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms.
This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal, and is
revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher at any time, for any
reason or for no reason at all. This greeting is freely transferable
with no alteration to the original greeting. This greeting implies
no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for
the wisher her/himself or others, or responsibility for the
consequences which may arise from the implementation or non-
implementation of it.

This greeting is void where prohibited by law.

BTW - This was stolen from someone else.
