Dominick,

I know you are very busy with preparations for Mega Con, but I still haven't heard about a refund for the $200, after sending several emails, can you direct me on who to talk to?

I have had two campaign cancellations, I still have three games. I am open for more, I would need people ready to judge.

I wanted to remind everyone of Megacon 16 FEB to 19 FEB in Orlando, FL.

This is the biggest convention event in Florida, and the largest gaming floor for our area. Jump in with two hundred of your closest friends and roll dice! We still have a lot of room, signups are a little slow since the holidays are so close to Megacon this year.

Megacon has listened to guests and have a new fast checking system, where they scan your printed receipt at check in.

I can't offer games without judges, and I won't ask people to work as judges without players. We have all the room we need, and the Con Management is giving us even more!

Preregistration makes this convention work better. I can still use judges, please step up as soon as possible. If you want to run an existing campaign contact me. If you want to add other games we would love to have you but I need new games ASAP.

Judges who have four tables that make on preregistration will get a free pass. I also have rooms for experienced eight slot judges.

We are offering different flavors of Campaign play in Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder Society, Living Forgotten Realms,  Legends of the Shining Jewel, and Ashes of Athas, a 4e Dark Sun campaign.

We are recruiting one shot indy games, from across the gaming pantheon. Try a new game before buying it from Drive Thru RPG or other sources.

We will also have Short Attention Span Gaming, one hour games crossing as many RPG lines as possible!

Offering for the first time, a new game, Shelter in Place, a Zombie LARP; additionall we will have a Zombie shamble and costume contest.

Questions can be emailed to the staff at MegaCon2012@...

Thanks for working hard on the gaming floor.

Greetings Adventurers,

I just wanted to let our fans know that Dark Tavern Press will not be running any games this year at MegaCon 2012. The primary reason is that we are currently finalizing our Shroud of the Ancients core books, as well as preparing for their upcoming release, and we feel that focusing on this is the right thing to do. However, Randy and I (Rod) will attend on Sunday to say hello to Dominic and Beth and check out the show. If anyone has any questions about the game or its progress, we will be in the RPG game room between slots 9 & 10 (that's 1pm - 2pm).

Thanks for the continued support,

Roderick Edwards

We still have open RPG slots.

This is the biggest convention event in Florida, and the largest gaming floor for our area. Jump in with two hundred of your closest friends and roll dice! We still have a lot of room, signups are a little slow since the holidays are so close to Megacon this year.

Megacon tickets are still purchasable at:

We are offering different flavors of Campaign play in Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder Society, Living Forgotten Realms,  Legends of the Shining Jewel, and Ashes of Athas, a 4e Dark Sun campaign.

We will also have Short Attention Span Gaming, one hour games crossing as many RPG lines as possible!

Every year we have most of the RPG players in Florida come to Megacon. Every club is represented, from all corners of the state. We get more and more players from the southeast, to come to Orlando. The City is taking notice, and we also have Gamerati coming to chat with gamers in Florida.

New opportunities will give us new challenges; that mean we need to work together.

I propose we have a Role Play Gamer Summit for a half hour, in between slot 6 and 7; this is Saturday 18 FEB 2102 at 1PM.

I want to be transparent about what I am doing and the plans for the future. I know each club will need two minutes to talk, and open discussions. It will be capped at a half hour.

A half hour will not be enough for our discussions, but hopefully open lines of communications.

What I need now is a representative for all clubs to contact me.

I know Brenda from the Tampa Bay OGRE will be there. I know there will be HMGS people there. I would like to be able to plan this tight half hour, open the discussion and close it so we can all hit the restroom and shove a hot dog in our faces before the 2PM Saturday slot.

Does anyone know what room the games will be in? Especially the table-top RPG's
and short attention-span games? We have a disabled friend going and trying to do
some pre-planning. Thanks!

I'm running LOTS of stuff, about 18hours worth. I "think" it is all in room
230AB:

For slot 5 Friday 7-11pm:
"Hunt for the Venerable Drake"
While you are passing through the free-port of Galishor, you visit the
establishment of Hlavius Griff, one of the town's largest and powerful
merchants. From the back comes wailing and groaning. "Oh, that's Master
Griff," a clerk explains. He leans forward and whispers, "Terrible news
today….he lost a ship today, fully loaded on the reefs north of town! The
Master spent all morning trying to convince the crew to go back but they won't
go for ANY price. Say, do you know of anyone willing to earn some fast gold for
a small errand…….?" This is a 7th level 3.5 Edition D&D Adventure using
pre-generated characters.

For slot 8 Saturday 7-11pm:
"Jarl's Legacy"
Stop the frost giants from reclaiming their destiny! You and your companions
must stand against the machinations of Gungir, self-styled Jarl of the Frost
Giants, while simultaneously discovering what evil lurks within Gungir's
ancestral home. This is a 10th level 3.5 Edition D&D Adventure using
pre-generated characters.

Short Attention Span Games:

Friday 10-11am & Saturday 3-4pm
"Munchkin Booty"
Use your Silver Long Johns to beat the Lobster Mobster, drink your Demon Rum to
fight off the Viking Kittens, and defend yourself with the Cutlass (or Cutlad,
for the gents) against the Prince of Whales. But watch out for Sharks!
Rake in the loot as a Pirate, Naval Officer, or Merchant. Taunt your foes with
your horrible Accent – British, Spanish, Dutch, or French. Equip your
Half-Galleon with a Crow's Nest and Figurehead. But above all . . . level up!

Friday 11am-12pm
"Fluxx"
The card game with ever changing rules! It starts out simple, with just the
Basic Rule card: draw one card and play one card during each player's turn. But
New Rule cards quickly make things chaotic.
Even the object of the game will often change as you play, as players swap out
one Goal card for another. Can you get the Rocket to the Moon before someone
changes the goal to Death by Chocolate?

Friday 1-2pm & Saturday 2-3pm
"War Orphans"
The city of Tekrit was desperate for soldiers during the war and made a
desperate plea to the savage species in surrounding lands. Many monsters took up
this call and fought for Tekrit; leading them to victory. As expected, many
soldiers died leaving many war orphans behind. You are one of these orphans and
you have been told that the offer of citizenship was extended to those who
served during the war, NOT their children……..but, you still might be able to
gain what you seek if you are prepared to offer the city your "services"…… This
is a 1st level 3.5 Edition D&D Adventure using pre-generated "monstrous"
characters.

Friday 2-4pm
"Ninja Burger"
Now you can join the elite Ninja Burger delivery team! You will learn to deliver
tasty burgers and fries anywhere. You will bring honor to your franchise.
Failure is not an option.
This hilarious card game pits you against your fellow trainees in a new Ninja
Burger store. Learn the secrets of stealth, swordsmanship, and customer service.
Fight for honor, respect, big tips, and that coveted promotion!

Saturday 10-11am
"Munchkin"
Go down in the dungeon. Kill everything you meet. Backstab your friends and
steal their stuff. Grab the treasure and run.
Admit it. You love it.
You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. And what
magic items! Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff
of Napalm . . . or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by
slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to
the Plutonium Dragon . . .

Saturday 11am-12noon
"Guillotine"
The "revolutionary" card game where you win by getting a head! Heads are going
to roll-lots of them-and you want to earn top bragging rights back in the
guillotine operators' locker room. If you behead Marie Antoinette or Louis XVI
everyone will be impressed, but who's going to care if you lop off a palace
guard's head? So make sure you collect the most prestigious noggins and you'll
be "head and shoulders" above the rest!

Saturday 3-4pm
"What's Cooking Doc?"
Times are tough. You should know, you've been hanging around this pub for three
weeks now trying to scrounge up work. So what is an out-of-work adventurer
suppose to do when the only job he can get is as an errand boy? What else but
close your mouth and deliver the message. But why in heaven's name did your
employer tell you to go armed? This is a 2nd level 3.5 Edition D&D Adventure
using pre-generated characters.

From Greg:

Right now, We have a 3 round Special event on Friday, the Godsmouth Heresy, scheduled to be played back to back. for one table of players. This is a perfect opportunity to get some new players/characters into Pathfinder. It's good for characters 1-3, and since I'm running it, I promise it'll be a good time for all.

In the interest of scheduling tables, it needs folks to sign up, if we are going to keep it on the schedule. So if your coming with a group 2-4, and want to play together, at least on Friday, please get signed up, it will only be available another couple of days, before the schedule has to be updated.

Pathfinder Module: The Godsmouth Heresy
Rated (six stars)
An urban and dungeon adventure for 1st-level characters.
Deep below the anarchic city of Kaer Maga, someone—or some thing—has begun stealing corpses from the city's most prestigious tomb, the Godsmouth Ossuary. Fearing the worst, the clerics of Pharasma in charge of maintaining the crypts quietly call for aid, not wanting to risk their own members in combating whatever horrors may have crept in from the tunnels and hidden chambers of the legendary Undercity. Yet when the PCs venture below the closed-off sections of the crypt, what they find may be more than they bargained for. For beneath the infamous crypt lies a temple from an ancient empire devoted to sin, and a former Pharasmin cleric who's weathered his goddess's wrath to create an army of undead minions, their dead flesh standing ready to support his heretical plans.
The Godsmouth Heresy is an adventure for 1st-level characters, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world's oldest RPG. It takes place beneath the cliff-top city of Kaer Maga, an ancient prison colony turned den of thieves and refugees, fully detailed in Pathfinder Campaign Setting: City of Strangers. In addition to the adventure, which features ancient tombs, horrifying sin magic, and a crazed alchemist, this module also contains statistics for the new rune guardian constructs and a map and overview of the Godsmouth Cathedral, the city's primary temple devoted to the Lady of Graves. Though this adventure is set in the frontier region of Varisia in the Pathfinder campaign setting, it can easily be adapted for any game world.

Thanks to all the players and judges at Megacon. We had a lot of changes in the past year, but we all had a great time.

Special thanks to Zac for his work on Pathfinder lead and a lot of setup on the con, Shane for stepping up to help lead LFR, and Kristie and Michael our Pathfinder Venture Officers for bringing Midnight Mauler and the support of Paizo. Dennis brought LSJ back to Megacon. The Smith clan has our thanks for never saying no to judge an extra game, along with so many people who pitched in where needed. I also want to thank Ginny and Tati for helping with so many support jobs.

Next RPG con in Florida will be Recon, look for announcements soon.

At Megacon I intended a round table discussion, but not many showed, since I foolishly scheduled it during lunch. Its not an issue. We have a lot of "Quo Vadis" things for RPG Gaming at conventions in the state of Florida.

Some of us are members of local groups, and many moderators have been very kind to admit me to your ranks to post announcements. Some have forums like HMGS, Tampa Bay, Living City and others that get announcements. Some people post blogs, look at Facebook, or watch my twitter feed.

I would like to invite you to join and participate in a discussion on florida-gamers at yahoogroups. I think its unfair to pick a local yahoogroup to have discussions.  Organizers like myself may or may not follow that advice, but it will be all in one place.

This does not replace your local group, in fact I encourage you to publish your local group there for membership.

There has been a very old group on the yahoo group network called Florida-gamers. About a year ago the owner entrusted me to help moderate it. Nobody will complain if we use it, in fact the owner expressed interest in more traffic.

Please join and send an email to florida-gamers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

I called for March events on the FLorida-gamers for statewide postings of your local public events. I decided to post this to the local groups, and help get this started.

From the FL gamers yahoo group:
> Can everyone post your regional events for March in the areas?

> Please post items that are open to the public and for new players, post the Region, specific location, start time, and games played.

> Tampa Bay Area: Birds of Paradise Games 1425 Main Street, Dunedin, FL
> Starting 11AM 24th March 2012, they are playing Pathfinder Society. Newbies are encouraged.

Like I said before this doesn't replace a single local yahoo group, website, or drum beat. The idea is to let people in other parts of the state know whats going on around the state. One may want to drive to the next city to play!

I established a Facebook for Pathfinders in Florida a while ago. Well I think we could use it a lot more. Please take a little time and like the page, and check back. I know Facebook isn't what all the cool kids use, but it has a lot of people out there.

Eventually we can make the graphics look better than what a 10 year old would do...

Don't panic, you can continue using other things like yahoogroups to post events, they will all be there!

The plan will also public pathfinder events there; it has some integration with other calendars for people with a wide variety of smart phones. I will also put up pics if people send them in, I have some that I will share as time goes on.

If you have an event that includes scheduled Pathfinder games, it is in a public place (not a private home), and open to the public, please consider posting it on the PoF page on Facebook!

Dominick,

Thanks for letting me know about the website.  I tried to register for the forum, but the site kept saying I got the verification code (the letters) wrong, I've tried several different times, and it won't let me register.  Is there a problem with the verification system?

Thanks,
