A space for Hindu(-Buddhist-)Muslim dialogue that is informed both by the theological perspectives of the great traditions and by the post-modern categories of the secular sciences. Home to the most diverse strands of Islam, South Asian history has witnessed pluri-directional syncretizing tendencies between Hinduism and other religions. The emerging Indo-Islamic culture that survived well into the colonial period is now being repudiated by Hindus, Muslims and progressists alike. By reducing and rigidifying these traditions, the advent of modernity has largely served to exaggerate and problematize pre-existing ideological differences. Anyone concerned by politico-religious conflict in South Asia, either in itself or as a lever to the current global crisis, and wishes to contribute towards greater harmony, or simply wants to learn and understand, is welcome to join.
