Where do your bilge pump hoses exit?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2725 of 7163 |
Ok,
I know this may sound strange (well it seems strange to me), but
here goes.
My C27 has a center bilge bilge pump, which exhausts out the
transom, above the water line. So far so good.

It then has a 2nd bilge pump, underneath the port side cabinet
(under where the stove is), but it appears that the exhaust hose
empties into the aft lazarette - is this normal? Shouldn't this also
exhaust overboard, above the water line (probably somewhere on the
port beam?).

Then, there is a manual pump mounted in the port side cockpit
locker - not a diaphragm pump, but an up-and-down pump (not sure of
the proper name - but it's like a heavy duty manual bilge pump
mounted vertically). And THAT exhaust hose dumps the water about 3
feet away, back into the bilge...

Any suggestions on how to PROPERLY get this water overboard?
Thanks
Phillip

I can understand the small pump. It seems to be basically to transfer the water from that area to the center, because there is no connection, perhaps. But the...
