Re: [MassBaySailors] Sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee

I did once. There are a lot of wakes, and the wind is inconsistent. I was told that sometimes, strong winds can come down from the hills and flatten your boat.
We ended up motoring most of the time

Subject: [MassBaySailors] Sailing on Lake Winnipesaukee

Hi All,  Does anyone from the group sail on Lake Winnipesaukee?  I know the lake pretty well from my power boating days in a previous life.  Would love to get out on that lake again for a day or two.  Seems to be a big community of sailboats in the Wolfeboro area.  Thanks, Terry

One of the best days sailing I ever had was on a sunfish on Winni. Very breezy, no waves we fairly flew up and down the lake....

Yes, I know about the rocks on the lake (Witches my least favorite area when nav. at nite) and I can see how the sometimes crazy winds can wreak havoc on...
