Named after the Patron Saint of Housewives, Martha's Kitchen is a place for Catholic moms in Northern Virginia to share housekeeping and homeschooling stories, ideas and advice. We are practicing Catholics, in union with the Magisterium, trying to become better wives and mothers, and get ourselves and our families to heaven! This list is meant to be a tool to better facilitate communication and support among women who have chosen to stay home with their children. We do not discuss serious matters of faith and morals here-there are other forums for that. We do not discuss controversial issues, nor engage in arguments and general "mud slinging." Private debates will have to be settled privately. And above all, we do not dissent from the teachings of Holy Mother Church! This list is just a "picket fence" for sharing recipes, organizational tips, homeschooling resources, books, and which store has tuna on sale for .40 a can! Feel free to use the calendar to let us know when you're throwing a party, or when Life is Beautiful comes out on video! Solicit ideas for a certain activity you are trying to coordinate, or ask for sewing advice. How do you get your children to clean their rooms, and what do you cook your picky eater for dinner? So join us in our "women's work," and when you read the story of Martha and Mary, remember, someone had to clean all those dishes!
